A COMMITMENT TO

What does it mean to be a collector? To hoard, to stock up, to obsess over, to lose control? By definition, a collector is “a person who collects things of a specified type, professionally or as a hobby,” but that doesn’t tell the whole story. People collect for an assortment of reasons, and the following go beyond that very definition. There are no limits, no qualms and no time constraints with these enthusiasts. At the surface, each collector and each collection may be different, but in reality, are all based in the same mindset. This is a dive into the lives of four local collectors: the hunter, the mechanist, the treasurer and the hobbyist.
