Don’t forget to Tag & Follow #CECON2022

Thank you for joining us for the first-ever CECON in Frisco and supporting ASCE Texas Section initiatives. With the challenges we all experienced and shared the last couple of years, we also see a lot of new opportunities through countless project and job opportunities to hybrid work environment adaptations. Through it all, with the help of dedicated volunteer leaders and experts, two massive infrastructure reports were released, Texas Infrastructure Report Card and Reliability & Resilience in the Balance, a vision beyond Winter Storms Uri and Viola – delivering essential infrastructure analysis and recommendations for the public and providing elected officials the tools necessary to support infrastructure advancement. Through grassroots and legislative advocacy, these tools will continue to be valuable relationship-building bridges for civil engineers across Texas and beyond as we build a better quality of life across the street and around the world.

From planning and design, to management and implementation, it is vital for businesses and communities to develop engineers who collaborate to reach further. Coming together as a community is key and the CECON 2022 program encourages this mindset in all engineers. After you have enjoyed keynote sessions by community leaders, one of a kind panels, and a wide variety of technical & specialized breakout sessions during this 3-day conference, you will be better prepared and inspired to continue overcoming current and future challenges. Our industry’s unique abilities give us strength as a unified community!

As I approach my first full year as Executive Director of the Teas Section, I look forward to connecting with you during the conference. I encourage you to take full advantage of the conference’s mobile event app features (search “ASCE Texas Section” in your app store) like the “Let’s Meet” button to connect with colleagues, mentors & mentees, and new & old peers, industry leaders, and future team members. Be sure to say “hi” to a student attendee and stick around for the evening socials. My excitement for #CECON2022 is immeasurable and confident your experience will exceed expectation.

Thank you for warmly welcoming me as your ASCE Texas community’s administrative leader. It is an honor to assist so many amazing professionals in their drive to be civil engineering leaders in their communities and hone their passion to protect public health, safety, and welfare through their craft.

Finally, thanks again to all attendees, collaborators, exhibitors, speakers, and sponsors for supporting ASCE Texas Section programing. The success of our flagship annual conference allows us to provide outstanding programing throughout the year. All these opportunities make a difference for so many civil engineers, whether it be the ASCE Region 6 Student Symposium, ASCE Texas Infrastructure Report Card, ASCE Texas Legislative Drive-In, Leadership Development Weekend, Texas Civil Engineer magazine, and more. We are proud to offer this amazing slate of programs and resources to serve the civil engineering community – and we could not do it without you! Thank YOU!
