Team Swinburne Formula SAE is a student-led motorsport team from Swinburne University of Technology. The team, founded in 1999, allows for students across the entirety of the university to participate in crossdisciplinary collaboration and facilitates the practical application of theoretical classroom knowledge. Each year Team Swinburne Formula SAE strives to design, build, and compete a formula- style electric racecar for the Formula SAE-A competition. At the competition, the team competes against other university’s teams from across the country and internationally. All of the teams are evaluated on vehicle performance, management processes, engineering design, and business operation through a series of dynamic and static events. Currently the team is working towards building its first ever all-wheel drive electric racecar with hub motors, TS_22, in preparation for the 2022 Formula SAE-A competition. This will make us only one of a few teams to have made the transition to building and competing an all-wheel drive electric racecar. Team Swinburne Formula SAE is also in the process of completing our first ever autonomous racecar for competition, converting our 2019 contender TS_19, into an autonomous vehicle.

Stan Adler - Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 Built back in 1991 for the old Porsche Cup & Production Sports Cars, debut support race Adelaide Grand Prix that year. lap record holder Oran Park, cannot be broken, many wins & podiums till 1998, then Road registered & competed in Tarmac Rallies. Sold in 2000, bought back in 2015 & built back to Group S specifications, massive work involved. Debut at Phillip Island 2017 as a Group S car, outright wins at Phillip Island, SMSP, Morgan Park, Lakeside & Queensland Raceway, has held lap records at most of those tracks. Also competed at Mallala, Wakefield Park & Winton. Driver: Stan Adler 1st Race car purchased in 1969, an original Appendix J FJ Holden, 1st in class Australia Hill climb Championship 1972, even wins at Hume Weir. Retired when married in 1974, resumed racing in 1984 with the Ex Alan Grice, Harry Bargwanna XU1 Torana, next the ex John Bourke EH Sports Sedan fitted with a Duggan Head, then a Mark 1 Escort with a 13B peripheral Rotary Engine. 1991 the 911 Porsche Cup car, now the Group S car, also owned Porsche GT3, Ex Brain Callahan Walkinshaw VL Commodore, the ex Gary Rogers Walkinshaw VL Commodore.

Bruce Connolly Elwyn 003 My motor racing history began mid 1982 with a Galloway Formula Ford which I ran in the then TAA Driver to Europe series in preparation for the 1983 National series. I contested 8 rounds of the series winning 5 rounds including the final round run at Winton in a brand new car given to me to get the Van Diemen name circulating as a formidable marque against the local manufacturers. I won the National series and the Coca Cola state series, for the good of the category winners could not continue competing so I moved up to the Australian National Formula one category in 1984 purchasing a Ralt RT4 formerly driven by Robert Moreno where I finished 4th in the Australian Gold Star. My highlight of that year was undoubtedly running in the 1984 Australian Grand Prix with the likes of Niki Lauda, Keke Rosberg, Roberto Moreno, John Bowe, Alfie Costanzo etc The car I have entered for Phillip Island is an Elwyn 003, the last car built by Elwyn Bickley who has been a friend of mine for over 50yrs. The car is a combination of all his skills and ideas culminating with his last attempt at making another one of his cars competitive with the likes of Van Diemen, Reynard, Swift etc. It is designed primarily on the basis of his earlier cars which there were 11 in total built. The car has not been raced anywhere except NSW in its short racing life as an Historic Formula Ford.
