NEWAM (New Wire Additive Manufacturing) is a £10M research programme to develop the next generation of large-scale wire-DED AM. A team of over 60 people, including PhD students, researchers and academics from Cranfield, Manchester, Coventry and Strathclyde Universities, are developing new processes, materials, models, sensors and NDT tools to guarantee as-built structural integrity and achieve high-build rate, net-shape, homogeneous material properties used.
