Dementia Action Week led by Alzheimer’s Society, is a national event that sees the Telephone reminder service UK public coming together to take action to improve the lives of people affected by dementia. Available anytime between 7am and 10pm Alzheimer’s Society is asking the public to as many times a day as needed. take a stand and urge transformation of the social care system for hundreds We are also able to offer emergency checks for those who need it. of thousands of families facing dementia today, and for generations to come by signing their petition to #curethecaresystem. There will be one million people living with dementia in the UK by 2025, making dementia care the greatest healthcare challenge facing society. There are lots of ways to get involved in Dementia Action Week. Whether you’d like to join the campaign or help spread the word among your friends, workplace or community, there are tailored resources full of ideas and advice at alzheimers.org.uk/DAW

SUSSEX EVENTS There are many Dementia Action Week events planned across Sussex (either socially distanced or via zoom) including an: Ask Us Anything Session (with West Sussex Libraries), a celebration of ‘Bring Dementia Out’ in collaboration with Switchboard Brighton’s Rainbow Café and a Virtual Church Service with participation from people living with dementia, with more events still to be confirmed. l For more information email: tim.wilkins@alzheimers.org.uk
