Growing a Social Side HHDBA set up the inter-business association quiz across Mid Sussex and is looking forward to the next round, hosted by the East Grinstead Business Association on 4th June. Also under careful wraps is an event in early July, aimed at members and their families. Rumours say it will be a hybrid between a traditional school sports day and ‘It’s a Knock Out’ – so watch this space! Already an established success, the third Greater Haywards Heath Bike Ride this April saw more than 900 riders setting off, with numbers swelled by family, friends and well-wishers. Cyclists were sent on their way by UK discus champ Jade Lally, accompanied by the Haywards Heath Town Band. The teams from Haywards Heath’s ‘twins’, Bondues in France and Traunstein in Germany, joined in the event too, welcomed by bunting along The Broadway and national anthems from the Band. To welcome the riders home, Vivace Choir gave a magnificent performance. With nearly £16,500 raised, the event looks set to reach its target for buying defibrillators for the area – another truly fantastic community day!

Dear business community, I am a local trader in Hurstpierpoint, helping small businesses expand and become more profitable with strategic marketing services, web development and design. About 5 years ago, my wife Andrea was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis), which affects her ability to walk any kind of distance, and it has got a little bit worse over the years. About 6 years ago, I got the bug to do different events and work with different charities, including the MS Society and the British Heart Foundation, with cycle and abseiling events. On 8th June, I will be skydiving (for the first time ever!) from Headcorn airfield near Maidstone in Kent from 10,000ft with a tandem jump. I’ve already raised £325 for the MS Society and am looking for more donations through my website. Photos of the jump will be posted on my website in July. If you are a business and you are donating, you will get a free business link on my site for the rest of the year. Thank you so much! Sonny Cutting www.y365.co.uk/company/charitywork
