It’s A Dog’s Life

As spring pokes out a tentative paw Teddy has been ruminating on the changing seasons, sleeping through the winter and sleeping arrangements in general, all translated into something humans can understand through the keyboard of Helen Stockton

bed, in spite of the fact that she has been provided with a perfectly nice one of her own. In keeping with her stature however, this bed is smaller than mine, and she clearly enjoys lounging at full stretch, whilst I’m curled up tightly in hers. I have learnt to hold my ground, but then she piles in too. If I’m lying in the middle of my bed, there is not really room for her to lie alongside, so she lies on top of me, making us look like a couple of stacked croissants.

During the night, since Bear was a small puppy, she has been sleeping in a small, soft crate, to hinder her nocturnal ramblings and potential for chewing.

However, she recently decided that this arrangement no longer suited her, and made her feelings plain by keeping everyone awake with scratching and barking. After several nights of trying to find alternative arrangements that didn’t involve her disturbing me, It might not always feel like it, but winter is coming to an end and spring is ‘Them Indoors’ gave up and blocked off the small area, by ‘Her Indoors’ side of the bed, where I normally sleep, and put Bear in with me. She immediately poking a cautious paw settled down, either in with me, in my out. I always feel a bit bed, or occasionally, actually in her envious of animals own bed. Sorted, for Bear at least! who hibernate. The Sleep is important, and, if I say so idea of taking to my myself, something I am rather good bed through all the at. I even look cute whilst I am doing bad weather and short it, which, to be frank, is more than days, emerging like a can be said for ‘Them Indoors.’ And daffodil when the sun I never have any trouble sleeping starts to shine, has its whilst ‘Them Indoors’ fuss over attractions. Emerging like a daffodil different weight duvets, windows open I am a dog who enjoys my bed. And it when the sun starts to or shut and blackout linings to the curtains. My problem isn’t so much is a very nice one. The shine, has its attractions the getting to sleep but the waking up, actual bed is tough, particularly if I am expected to go out wipeable plastic, but I have a memory walking in inclement conditions. Still, foam mattress with a soft, fleecy cover as the mornings are getting lighter and a bolster that runs around the back and the birds are starting to sing, who and sides, so I have somewhere to rest knows, I might actually be tempted to my weary head. Unfortunately for arise, if you’ll excuse the pun, with a me, Bear also likes my spring in my step! l
