Every year we read the news of some beloved actors and musicians passing away. Some make headlines, some don’t. I have compiled a list meant for reflection on who we have lost in 2022. In order of their passing, here is this year’s list.

1/6/22 Sidney Poitier

Actor best known for his role in the movie Look Who’s Coming to Dinner. He was also the first African American to win an Oscar as best actor. He was 94

1/9/22 Bob Saget

Comedian and TV star best known for his Role as Danny Tanner on Full House, and America’s Funniest Home Videos He was 65.

1/12/22 Ronnie Spector

Singer for The Ronettes, most noted for her song “Be My Baby” She was 78.

1/20/22 MeatLoaf (AKA- Michael Lee Aday)

Singer and actor best known for his debut album Bat out of Hell, and as Eddie in Rocky Horror Picture Show. He was 74.

1/21/22 Louis Anderson

Comedian and movie actor and game show host.

2/6/22 Sly Johnson

Musician, songwriter, singer, for the band Sly and the Family Stone. He was 85

3/20/22 William Hurt

Actor best known for his role in The Big Chill among many other movies. He was 71

3/25/22 Taylor Hawkins

Drummer and occasional vocalist for the Foo Fighters. He was 50.

4/12/22 Gilbert Gottfried

Comedian, actor and voice over talent. He was 67.

4/30/22 Naomi Judd

Country Music star and actress of The Judd Family. She was 76

5/26/22 Ray Liotta

Actor best known for his role in playing mobster Henry Hill, in Goodfellas,among many others. He was 67.

6/6/22 Jim Seals

Singer and songwriter for the band Seals and Croft. Best know for the song Summer Breeze among others. He was 80.

7/14/22 Ivana Trump

Clothing designer, model, author 1st wife to Donald Trump. She was 73

8/8/22 Olivia Newton John

Singer and actress. She is best known for her role as Sandy in the movie Grease and for her song from the same movie Hopelessly Devoted to You. She was 73.

8/11/22 Anne Heche

Actress with the ability to span many roles and genres. She was 53.

9/8/22 Queen Elizabeth II

Longest ruling monarch of England and its territories. She was 96

9/12/22 Ramsey Lewis

Pianist, musician for the Ramsey Lewis Trio. He was 87.

9/28/22 Coolio (aka Artis Leon Ivey Jr.)

Rapper, singer, song writer. Best known for the song Gangsters Paradise. He was 59.

10/4/22 Loretta Lynn

Country Music star and singer. She is best known for her song Coal Miner’s Daughter She was 90.

10/11/22 Angela Lansbury

Actress best known for her role on the TV show Murder She wrote. She was 96.

10/28/22 Jerry Lee Lewis

Musician, pianist, singer and one of the original rock ‘n’ roll Pioneers. He is best known for the songs Great Balls of Fire. He was 87.

11/5/22 Aaron Carter

Teen idol, singer. He was 34

11/30/22 Christine McVie

Singer, song writer, keyboard and founding member of leetwood Mac. Her lead vocals are best known for the songs Such as You Make Loving Fun and Over My Head. She was 79.

12/5/22 Kirstie Alley

Actress of both TV and Movie Fame. Best known for her role as Rebecca Howe as Sam Malone’s (Ted Danson) love Interest on Cheers and her film work in the Look Who’s Talking movies. She was 71.
