CRAZED VISIONS

The band, CRAZED VISIONS, hails from Altoona, Pa and they are far from your run of the mill bands. The Altoona area is filled with all types of music and bands and this band surely stands out on its own. I must admit, I do find the CD cover quite odd and ‘special’, because they have the name of the band on the back of the CD cover. You have to see it for yourself. In fact, they even have their own Billboard in Altoona, Pa promoting their CD.

The band members are: MATTHEW CAIN-Vocals, acoustic guitar, violin, bass and percussion; SASCHA FROST-Backing vocals, synthesizer/FX, piano, recorder; IAN WISSINGER-Backing vocals, lead guitar, synthesizer; JUSTIN CAIN-Bass guitar and GUY MAURO-Percussion and Bass.

This 12 song CD was Produced and Mastered by Sascha Frost. CIRCLE BACK AROUND kicks off this CD that has a great psychedelic sound that will, definitely, get in your head. The vocals remind me a bit of Bright Eyes as he’s getting high. You, definitely, will have to listen hard to the band.

PYROMANIACS is a hypnotic song that will surely take you to la-la land. I can picture it now, as everyone is swaying back and forth to this song with ‘stars’ in their eyes. Hang on tight, you’re in for a ride!

GET AWAY is a mellowed out acid folk song with notes repeating over and over again, getting in your head. You’ll see the stars on this one. SAMHAIN LOVE WAR is quite interesting as a story is told to you, which you have to listen closely to. The music, itself, sounds as if the band is playing loops over and over again. Look to the clouds on this song and float away with the music. US , definitely, proves the band to be a psychedelic band by all means. The song is short and sweet and you’ll most likely want to hear it again.

BACKROADS brings this CD to end which reminds me of being in some smoky cocktail bar watching the crowd mingle and singles trying to score. This song is a bit jazzy which is nice to hear.
