CHILLER THEATRE EXPO PARSIPPANY, NJ Friday October 28thSunday October 30 2022

Every year in April and October we look forward to seeing our entertainment friends at Chiller Theatre Expo in Parsippany, NJ. Due to Covid, the last time we were there was in 2019, so we were eager to see everyone.

On Friday October 28th, the team went out to cover the event. Our Punk Rock friends from NJ, The Accelerators, are a sure bet every year, and it was good to see them again. This year we had the addition of meeting with The Plasmatics guitarist, Richie Stotts so I sat down with him for an interview, and we discussed how much Wendy O was missed.

I also got to see and do another interview with American idol, and Rock of Ages Vocalist, Constantine Maroulis. Last we spoke was at the 2019 event. This time I got to meet and spend a short amount of time with Lisa Loring, who is the original Wednesday from the 60s tv sitcom, The Addams Family. Lisa had to leave, so I will catch up with her after the holidays.

I was planning on doing an interview with Former Kiss guitarist, Ace Frehley, AKA The “Spaceman”, but he was tied up with fans, and our time was limited, so we are planning to set something up in the next month after his schedule slows down.. Totally unplanned, our photographer happened to run into guitarist Danny Farrow Anniello from Angel, so we snuck in some photos and an interview with him.

There were 2 more first time interviews I had the chance to do.. One with Michael Fishman AKA “DJ” of the tv show Roseanne, and the current show, The Connors. He was a very personable and sincere young man, and told about some projects he is doing, and about helping the homeless. The other was actress Cathy Moriarty, best known for the movies Raging Bull and Casper.. She was an absolute sweetheart and a joy to talk to!

While there was a decent crowd for the opening night, I definitely saw that Covid had an impact on attendance. I also think that the setup of the previous hotel was better, and more conducive to a better turnout and overall experience. We all miss “The Rock Room”, which the previous hotel had in prior years. The next Chiller experience will be in April of 2023, and we are hoping to join them as guests next time around!
