Learn the Art of Negotiating

BY DR. MEG MYERS MORGAN

Thursday, May 11 | 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM

2023 Sports ETA Symposium*STS accredited members only*

Do you want to learn how to be a better negotiator and get what you want? On Thursday at Sports ETA Symposium, STS accredited members are invited to Dr. Meg Myers Morgan’s presentation of “How to Negotiate.” She literally wrote the book on negotiating, including “Everything is Negotiable: The 5 Tactics to Get What You Want in Life, Love & Work.”

She takes attendees through stages of what may be keeping you from negotiating anything from a better salary to new job responsibilities. Starting with fear of conflict and fear of what others will think of you, Dr. Morgan provides step-by-step reasons on why you should never fear negotiating for what you want.

Dr. Myers also shares the three reasons people don’t negotiate, and how to combat each of those reasons. It might be as simple as finding a mentor to advise you on the ask, or more thought provoking, such as asking yourself the right questions on why you want to negotiate.

Along the way, she gives advice on how to make your negotiation beneficial for both sides, not just for you. “Negotiating isn’t a conflict,” Dr Myers says. “Negotiating is a collaboration.” visittulsa.com/sports

At the end, Dr. Myers’ presentation will help you feel more confident and more prepared in the ask.
