A SCUOLA IN BICI
When man invented the bicycle he reached the peak of his attainments. Here was a machine of precision and balance for the convenience of man. And (unlike subsequent inventions for man ' s convenience) the more he used it, the fitter his body became. Here, for once, was a product of man ' s brain that was entirely beneficial to those who used it, and of no harm or irritation to others. Progress should have stopped when man invented the bicycle. Medical research reveals sound reasons for cycling on a regular basis. Cycling has several advantages:
It burns calories It increases muscle tone
It exercises the heart and reduces the risk of heart disease
It reduces stress
Our school has announced the competition “A scuola in bici�, from March 3, 2012 until May 26, 2012. On Saturdays all partipants will go to school by bicycle. On their arrival they will get a ticket to participate in a lottery for a daily prize.
On May 30, 2012 all pupils who have used the bicycle for at least 10 days will participate in a final prize draw : the winner will get a new bike
