With few exceptions, the Mayan prophecy about the end of the cosmic cycle has been misinterpreted as predicting the actual physical destruction of humanity and the material world.

This is similar to the misinterpretation of the term "apocalypse" by Christian fundamentalists, particularly the millions of American Christians who believe that at the time of this global destruction they will experience "rapture" and be united with Jesus.

The original and literal meaning of the term apocalypse, however, is not "destruction" but "lifting of the veil" or "revelation." It referred to the disclosure of secrets, hidden from the majority of humanity, to certain privileged persons.

cosmic experience

Based on my research into n o n - o rd i n a r y s t a t e s o f consciousness, I believe in a radically di erent, more optimistic interpretation of t h e M a y a n p r o p h e c y. Instead of predicting a physical destruction of the material world, the Mayan prophecy might imply the possibility of a mass inner transformation of humanity -- the end of a world dominated by unbridled violence and insatiable greed.

ff

The Mayans were indeed accomplished astronomers. More than 2,000 years ago they noticed that the position of the winter solstice sun was slowly shifting toward an alignment with the galactic axis. This movement (precession) is caused by the wobble of the rotational axis of the earth. The Mayans concluded that major changes of cosmic proportions would occur at the time of this auspicious solar/galactic alignment that occurs only once every 25,800 years.

Bad womb experiences But in addition to making sophisticated astronomical observations,

the ancient Mayans were also

keen explorers of their inner worlds. We have ample pictorial evidence that they used various "technologies of the sacred" for this purpose, including the cactus Lophophora Williamsii (peyote), Psilocybe mushrooms, Salvia divinatorum (also known as diviner's sage), morning glory seeds, wild tobacco, balche (a fermented drink made from the tree Lonchocarpus longistylus and honey), and skin secretions of the toad Bufo marinus.

For the last 50 years, I have used "technologies of the sacred" in order to research the modern human psyche and its potential for healing. In my case, this was clinical research with

psychedelics as well as numerous workshops and a training program using breathwork. In a supportive environment and under responsible guidance, individuals can use these techniques to experience states of consciousness that are both healing, informative, and transformational. I call these states "holotropic" -- meaning that they move us toward wholeness.

In holotropic states of consciousness, it is possible for individuals to obtain profound revelations about the universe -- far beyond the limits of their everyday imagination. And often, in such states, individuals can perceive a meaningful correlation between inner experiences and outer events.

Although the modern, post-industrial consciousness tends to dismiss this idea,

the

perception of the universe as an organic whole in which

interconnected and the human

psyche

is

a

microcosm that re ects the m a c ro c o s m i s a t y p i c a l feature of profound inner experiences.

In holotropic states the

Mayans thus might have envisioned a meaningful connection between their inner experiences, terrestrial events, and the movements of celestial bodies.

everything is meaningfully

fl

Amniotic universe: prenatal experience opening into a cosmic one

Another key insight from my research is that individuals who enter holotropic states repeatedly will experience a profound transformation --

a process of

psychospiritual "death" and rebirth. This process can be "apocalyptic" in the truest sense of the word, in that it lifts the veil on their previously unseen spiritual nature.

And yet, for individuals to experience that lifting of the veil, or revelation, they must let go of their previous identities. And this "death" can provoke tremendous fear of destruction, a protracted struggle with existential issues, and violent resistance. Given this evidence,

it is hard not to

conclude that the current behavior of our species is a kind of unconscious "acting out" of our inner fear of transformation.

creation of life

To look around at current events, one might conclude that our world is indeed falling apart. And whether or not this was predicted by ancient Mayan seers, we are clearly involved in a dramatic race for time that has no precedent in the entire history of humanity.

What is at stake is nothing less than the future of humanity and of life on this planet.

Many of the people with

data. If we continue the old strategies, which in their consequences are clearly extremely destructive and self-destructive, it is unlikely that modern civilization will survive.

However, if a su cient number of people undergo a process of deep inner transformation, we might reach a stage and level of consciousness at which we will deserve the proud name we have given to our species: homo sapiens sapiens (the wise people) -- and live in a new world that will have little resemblance to the old.

By Dr. Stanislav Grof

whom I have worked saw in their holotropic visions humanity at a critical crossroad -- facing either collective annihilation or an evolutionary jump in consciousness

of

unprecedented nature and dimension.

The philosopher-poet

Terence McKenna put it very succinctly: "The history of the silly monkey is over, one way or another." We either undergo a radical transformation of our species or we might not survive.

The nal outcome of the crisis we are facing is ambiguous and uncertain; it lends itself to pessimistic or optimistic interpretation, and each of them can be supported by existing

Revision and Revisioning of Psychology: Legacy of Half a Century of Consciousness Research In the last ve decades, various avenues of modern consciousness research have revealed a rich array of “anomalous” phenomena – experiences and observations that have undermined some of the generally accepted assertions of modern psychiatry, psychology, and psychotherapy concerning the nature and dimensions of the human psyche, the origins of emotional and psychosomatic disorders, and effective therapeutic mechanisms. Many of these observations are so radical that they question the basic metaphysical assumptions of materialistic science concerning the nature of reality and of human beings and the relationship between consciousness and matter. In this paper, I will summarize my observations and experiences from more than half a century of research into an important subgroup of nonordinary states for which I coined the name holotropic; these ndings seriously challenge the existing scienti c paradigms. Before I address this topic, I would like to explain the term holotropic that I will be using throughout this article. All these years, my primary interest has been to explore the healing, transformative, and evolutionary potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness and their great value as a source of new revolutionary data about consciousness, the human psyche, and the nature of reality.

Revealing the interwoven energies of body and soul, love and spirit that illuminate the core of each being, Alex G r e y ’s m y s t i c p a i n t i n g s articulate the realms of consciousness encountered during visits to entheogenic heaven worlds. His painting Net of Being--inspired by a blazing vision of an in nite grid of Godheads during an ayahuasca journey. Net of Being is one of many images Grey has created that have resulted in a chain reaction of uses--from apparel and jewelry to tattoos and music videos--embedding these iconic works into our culture’s living Net of Being.

The Shulgins and their Alchemical Angels

The book explores how the mystical experience expressed in Alex Grey’s work opens a new understanding of our shared consciousness and unveils the deep in uence art can have on cultural evolution. The narrative progresses through a successive expansion of identity-from the self, to self and beloved, to self and community, world spirit, and cosmic consciousness, where bodies are transparent to galactic energies. Presenting over 200 images, including many never-beforereproduced paintings as well as masterworks such as St. Albert and the LSD Revelation Revolution and Godself, the book also documents performance art, live-painting on stage throughout the world, and the “social sculpture” called CoSM, Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, that Grey cofounded with his wife and creative

DMT The Spirit Molecule My path into the world of psychedelic drug research was via the biology of spiritual experience. During my undergraduate years, two technologies were entering Western culture that provided reliable consistent entry into spiritual states of consciousness. These were Eastern meditation-based religions— especially Buddhism—and the psychedelic drugs—especially LSD. There were striking similarities between descriptions of psychedelic drug states and those resulting from particular meditation practices.

By Rick Strassman, M.D.

there must be a common associated biology. I began considering the question of what that biology might be. The most logical conclusion was that there is a substance in the brain with psychedelic properties: the brain’s own LSD.

A chemical that the

body produces that elicits subjective e ects like a psychedelic drug. It is also a chemical that the body would produce in response to speci c meditation practices.

pineal gland

It was around that time that I found out that a melatoninlike compound had already been determined to be both psychedelic and endogenous in man. This compound is DMT, dimethyltryptamine, a powerful psychedelic molecule found in every mammal investigated, including humans. It exists in hundreds if not thousands of plants, in particular abundance in Latin America. DMT is a relatively simple compound, only slightly larger in molecular weight than glucose or blood sugar. It is a chemical cousin of serotonin and melatonin and two simple metabolic steps separate dietary tryptophan and dimethyltryptamine. The lung makes DMT and DMT makes its way into the brain readily across the bloodbrain-barrier. The human gene that forms the enzyme nalizing synthesis of DMT has been identi ed, characterized, cloned, and inserted into mammalian cells where it produces a functional enzyme.

fi

the two states overlapped,

I began my search for such a substance with the pineal gland. The pineal gland has long been an object of reverence for esoteric physiologies due to its location at the crown of the skull, the seeming site of powerful spiritual experiences. In the early 1980s very little was known about this enigmatic non-brain organ in the middle of the human brain. Methods to accurately measure melatonin, its primary hormonal product, had just been developed. Researchers believed that abnormal melatonin physiology might underlie the psychiatric disorder winter depression/seasonal a ective disorder. However, very little was known about the e ects of melatonin in humans and early studies suggested that high doses were profoundly mind-altering. Perhaps melatonin was the endogenous psychedelic I was seeking. We performed an exhaustive study of human melatonin psycho-physiology in the mid-1980s and determined a role for melatonin in human body temperature regulation. However, even quite high doses of melatonin, ones that resulted in several times normal blood levels, were not psychoactive.

The visionary e ects of DMT had already been discovered by Latin American indigenous cultures, one example of its use being the drinking of the psychedelic brew ayahuasca. Ayahuasca has been used for thousands of years and its consumption continues to grow. The presence of DMT was rst determined in psychoactive Latin American plants in the 1940s, found to be powerfully psychoactive in humans in the 1950s, discovered in tissues of rodents in the 1960s, and soon thereafter seen in human tissues. Pure DMT was administered to many human volunteers safely in the 1950s, and 1960s and researchers hoped that DMT studies might shed light on human psychotic illness. The theory proposed that if DMT were involved with schizophrenia, for example, developing drugs to block DMT's e ect might be helpful for the naturally occurring disorder.

I decided to study DMT because it seemed a strong candidate for an endogenous chemical with profound psychological e ects, some of which are seen in spiritual experience. We began our study in 1990 and nished in 1995. Several dozen volunteers received cumulatively about 400 doses of various strengths of DMT. Our model was a psychopharmacological one, and we collected a vast amount of biological and psychological data. I also took meticulous notes of our volunteers’ drug sessions. We published several papers in the scienti c literature describing our studies and their results. Detailed accounts of subjects’ experiences are given in "DMT: The Spirit Molecule" (Park Street Press, VT; 2001), a book which led to the documentary about DMT with the same name (Warner Bros. Distributing; 2011).

fi

The psychological e ects of DMT begin within a heartbeat or two of its intravenous injection. An intense inner physical and psychological pressure quickly builds, often accompanied by a distinctive sound. Volunteers were overwhelmed with a rush—a powerful feeling of excitation, stimulation, and pleasure. Initially, there are swirling buzzing geometric patterns overlaid upon the room, consisting of compellingly bright and intensely saturated colors. The rush culminates within a minute or so and transitions into what volunteers described as a disassociation of consciousness from the body.

Subjects then reported entry into a world of light. The colors had saturation and brightness unlike any that the volunteers had ever seen. Commonly the swirling colors appeared to congeal and caused subjects to see beings who oftentimes were aware of, expecting, glad to see, and established a relationship with the volunteer. Just as striking was the conviction on the part of the volunteers that what they had experienced in the DMT state possessed a reality as real as this reality, perhaps even more so. These peak e ects went on for several minutes. Subjects could then begin speaking at 15-20 minutes and felt relatively normal by the half-hour point.

Contrary to my original expectations, the enlightenment states that I had anticipated—loss of sense of self, no concepts, total immersive identi cation with the void, emptiness, or the white light were quite rare. After carefully considering models proposed by the three disciplines that guided my research—the psychoanalytic, psychopharmacologic, and Zen Buddhist—I began to search for other models: ones that posited the reality of a non-corporeal level of existence, with which we may interact in unique circumstances. While the contemporary physics world is considering this level of interaction by means of the instrumentation of their eld, more developed models seem to use altered consciousness as methods to access those levels of reality. In particular, I found that the Old Testament’s notion of prophecy was highly salient.

By prophecy as described in the Hebrew Bible (a more accurate term than Old Testament) I do not mean prediction, forecasting of the future. Rather, I mean a spiritual experience described in the text, any awareness of sights and sounds that had hitherto been invisible. Foretelling may occur, but is not necessary for the de nition I am using.

fi

fi

fi

ff

Ten Sephirot on the east wall of the Cordoba Synagogue, Spain

To the extent that experiences reported in the Hebrew Bible comport with those of my DMT volunteers, it suggests common biological processes are at work. This is not to say that those experiencing prophecy take drugs; rather, it suggests that biological processes brought on by DMT may be occurring in biblical prophetic states, too.

There are pitfalls involved in tackling the Hebrew Bible as a spiritual text for highly-educated urbanized people. However, these are not necessarily insurmountable, and the e ort to overcome these resistances may be worthwhile, simply in order to gain access to the contents of this powerful text. The Hebrew Bible is considered foundational by one-half of the Earth's population, and demonstrates several thousand years of durability and in uence within all realms of society, including education, law, science, ethics, art, and economics.

I have performed a careful analysis of reports of those who experience prophecy in the Hebrew Bible, and have compared these reports with those of my DMT volunteers. The resemblance is striking. All one needs to do is read the rst chapter of Ezekiel to get a sense of the psychedelic nature of the prophetic experience. Both my DMT volunteers and those in a prophetic state witness brightly-colored, rapidly moving visions often containing sentient interactive beings who impart verbal information to them. Both sets of experients report movement through space, extremely powerful emotions, novel insights into the nature of reality, metaphysics, ethics. In particular, there exists a relationship between the beings and those who apprehend them. My review suggests that the biblical personages have a more highly-developed and more cogent understanding of, and ability to apply, their experiences compared to those in my DMT research. I am writing up these results for a new book, “The Soul of Prophecy,” which I hope is published sometime in the rst half of 2013.

fi

fi

fl

ff

fi

Two practical outcomes are suggested by proposing a common biological mechanism associated with both the DMT and prophetic states. To the extent that the Hebrew Bible is a text rendered by the prophetic mind, one wishing to plumb the depths of the text more deeply may be aided by putting the mind into as close to a prophetic state as possible—that is, through a carefully supervised psychedelic drug session. This model is already being applied in a more general manner by the research group at Johns Hopkins which has demonstrated mystical experiences following administration of the DMT-like drug, psilocybin. Thus, those who speci cally wish to focus on the Hebrew Bible in a clinically circumscribed context could similarly avail themselves of these types of sessions.

The other possible outcome of my model is that the Hebrew Bible could serve as a psychedelic text to Westerners wishing to answer spiritual, ethical, and aesthetic questions raised by the psychedelic experience.

The Hebrew Bible has the advantage of using uniquely Western terms, vocabulary, concepts, imagery, cultural icons, etc. That is, instead of Buddhism and shamanism that most young adults gravitate towards after a paradigm-shattering psychedelic experience, they could turn to the Hebrew Bible with its familiar notions. They would do this from a more mature psychedelicized perspective, unavailable previously. Such study, however, requires a translation and commentary of the text that remains true to its plain meaning, an extraordinarily di cult undertaking.

"DMT: The Spirit Molecule" Audiobook Now Available

The proposal that DMT and the prophetic state share both phenomenology and an underlying biology may provoke critical responses from the secular and religious communities. The pious might claim that such a theory relegates spiritual experience as a hallucination, the result of disordered brain chemistry. While the secular reader may reject any suggestion to learn from a text that has been misused for political and nancial gain for so many centuries. Both objections miss the mark. Rather, I hope to stimulate discussion of ways in which faith and knowledge, spirituality and science, can both learn from each other, as well as nd answers for questions concerning the nature of and source of both.

Trailer - DMT: The Spirit Molecule

By Rick Strassman, M.D. Photo by Wendy Kout Rick Strassman MD performed the rst new human studies with psychedelic drugs in the US in over 20 years. His research involved the powerful naturally-occurring compound, DMT – N,N-dimethyltryptamine. Led to this substance through his earlier study of the pineal gland as a potential biological locus for spiritual experiences, he administered several hundred doses of DMT to approximately 60 volunteers between 1990 and 1995. He wrote about this research in the popular book, DMT: The Spirit Molecule, which has sold over 100,000 copies, been translated into 12 languages, and has been made into an audio book. In addition, the DMT book inspired an independent documentary with the same name, picked up by Warner Bros. distributing in 2011, which is now widely available. With three distinguished collaborators, he coauthored Inner Paths to Outer Space, which looks more carefully at the common "other worlds" experience that volunteers frequently reported during his research. Since 1996, Dr. Strassman has been exploring models for the DMT effect focusing primarily on the Hebrew Bible concept of prophecy. Prophecy is a spiritual experience which takes into account the apparently external, free-standing nature of the DMT "worlds" observed in Dr. Strassman's research, in which one's sense of self is highly preserved and interactive. The biblical concept of prophecy provides an alternative to other models that borrow more heavily from Eastern religious systems, and those of Latin American shamanism. The notion of prophecy also deals directly with ethical and moral concerns, adding a crucial element to our ability to understand and integrate the content of the psychedelic experience. He is developing these ideas in his next book, The Soul of Prophecy, due to appear in 2013.

ANY THOUGHT IS A HOLOGRAM When you form pictures in your mind you are creating a holographic image in your brain. When you dream you are creating a holographic image because your brain is capable of producing holograms. Visions and revelation coming into your mind are created in the form of a hologram.

Whatever we focus on crystalizes in our reality. Noted psychologist William Glasser observed that physiology and internal representation are totally linked. Everything we think, do and feel is generated by what happens inside us. It is impossible to choose a total behavior and not choose all its components. If, however, you want to change a total behavior, the way to do it is to choose to change its' doing and thinking components. The power of perspective is being able to reframe what we see, synthesizing knowledge from a variety of elds.

The minds eye (third eye) is the conception center of the brain. The dictionary de nes this third eye as the “imagination”.

Consciousness is the construct of our reality. Consciousness is the spiritual awareness of Being, of allknowing, all-power, and all-presence. The many levels of sleep are altered states of the mind. Levels of dreaming are alpha, beta , delta, theta, and are also levels of consciousness. We have a subconscious mind that can be accessed through hypnosis and meditation.

There are those who have Out of Body Experiences (OBE) and Near Death Experiences (NDE), states of mind that are so real that you may not know if you are in the body or out. Those who experience meditative states that are just as real to the brain as what we touch with our ngers are creating holographic images that are just a di erent state of the compression of light, the crystallized light we call physical objects. These objects of mass are light vibrating at a slower pace.

L u c i d d re a m i n g i s similar to the movie Inception that used our brains' creative ability to access other dimensions.

Who or what is in control of the brain and these images (thought forms)? How do we utilize and maximize the hemispheres of the brain? One way is lucid dreaming where you enter your dream knowing you are awake in your dream, and can control things in this dimension without the fear and consequences of this harder physical world. Lucid dreaming is similar to the movie Inception that used our brains' creative ability to access other dimensions.

Hormones and chemical reaction are forms of electromagnetic energy producing a cosmic spectrum of frequencies including visible light. The brain produces these chemical reaction to create real feelings from our subconscious holographic mind to give us direction for further creativity. Intellectual ideas are holographic images from our consciousness that are thoughts from the conception center (minds eye) of the brain. These creativity ideas are transferred to the hemispheres of the brain for the development of our thought processes.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light.

The brain has other parts that contribute to creation of ideas and feelings. The hippocampus, the amygdala, and the

The matrix, the lattice ,and the grid that warps space and time in quasi-concentric rings forms holographic images that become our reality. These are now being explored by more scienti c disciplines. Holograms and interferometry are the processes of crystallizing light into mass (elemental matter). Designing a universe by how we think is utilization of the intelligent information that makes objects or particles compress into mass. Hence the formula E = m(c) squared (squaring is to multiply a number by itself). Originally the formula had a “v” for velocity. Isaac Newton rst tried to described energy and how it related to mass and velocity, but Gottfried Leibniz realized that energy increases geometrically when compressed so he squared the velocity. Einstein needed a constant velocity so he chose the speed of light “c”(celerias Latin for swiftness). A constant is something that cannot be exceeded, so it becomes a conversion factor telling us how to link the two systems of energy and matter.

What happens to the energy that is stored in the universe, in the form of a standing wave, when you move it to the other side of the equal sign? We can convert mass into energy, so mass and energy are interchangeable, just di erent forms of the same thing. To square the force in radiation propagation and electric current makes the equal sign the standing wave, and when light passes through the equal sign as (c) squared it creates a lot of pressure from compressed energy to form mass which turns the energy of light into matter.

Energy exists as intelligence in the form of information that is bound together. When we send it through the equal sign which

fi

acts as a tunnel or bridge for the compression of light, it combines to give it pressure we call a scalar eld. Scalar energy responds when given a vector point, by an exothermic reaction, or the inverse endothermic reaction. These vector points or nodal points are mini black holes that are present everywhere, in all elements, forming matter and keeping the matter bound by the generation of eld energy that we call gravity (attraction). If we form a holographic image we can turn it into substance by the use of frequency compression at the speed of light squared ( E =m(c) squared).

By Walter Russell So how do we utilize this amazing power of the brain? We need to understand more about light. Light particles called photons experience being everywhere at once. The photo plate that is used to create a hologram has the image everywhere on the plate. The image that is recorded looks like concentric circles similar to the rings made when you throw a hand full of pebbles into a pool of water. When the laser light is shown back through the negative plate you get the image. If you cut the plate in half you still get the whole image; if you divide it again you still get the full image, it is just not as bright.

How does that hologram work in us? Walter Russell calls the center of the universe “magnetic stillness”. It is the magnetic stillness from which all creation comes through the paired sex of electricity (positive and negative, male and female). He further states “God's Creation is the imaged patterned form of God's imagining, built in His image. It is the body of God, the record of His thinking, created by Him for expressing the One-ness of Life, Love, Mind, Soul and Power which is in Him... God is Light. God is Universal Mind. Mind is Light. Mind knows. Mind thinks what it knows.” All of these characteristic traits are in each of us working and functioning, just waiting for our holographic consciousness to access and use them.

Holographic Universe (Part 1 of 5 ) its all illusion ç

In the book of Moses we read that “I the Lord God, created

all things, ... spiritually, before they were naturally upon the face of the earth.” Spirit matter is just more re ned and pure. If you have trouble with the word spirit then call it the pure essence of who you are.

Mada Dalian states “there is no di erence between the center of the physical reality and the center of the non-physical reality. In every cell and atom, within all that exists in the universe - the center is the same.”

The human body is made from the same elements as the universe. The metals (minerals) chemicals, and substances are governed by the same laws that govern the universe/multi-verse. Our relationship to this alchemy of the human body/brain is in our memories that are recorded in holographic form in the elements of our brain and every cell of our entire body.

We are light-kind with the universe and have an ability to control our personal body and thoughts in such a way that continues to

This state of consciousness that is holographic has the ability to go beyond the limits of what we see as our daily imagination to images that can be pure knowledge owing from the universe into our whole being. This relates keep us who we are and our body what it is.

to the spirit (pure essence) of who we are that connects to the spirit (pure essence) of the universe, something we can call the holographic state of enlightenment. You can also say that you are the pure substances of compressed light. This would shed “light” on a biblical de nition of faith. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” This helps to explain why faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. It is done through the power of the cosmic mind that is the gateway to these energy elds. They are available to us through the power of E =mc squared. In this formula the speed of light multiplied by itself converts 670 million mph to 448.9 quadrillion mph. That creates a lot of pressure to move or compress something.

In Genesis, it says Let there be Light, and Brahma speaks aham, I AM, creating the wave, the optical illusion and vibrating the universe into existence. I am a beacon to those who see Me. I am a mirror to those who look to Me. I am a door to those who knock on Me. I am a Way to you the traveler. - The Hymn of Jesus from the Acts of John

DVDs use laser light to record the information by embedding it on the disc. The human alchemy responds to the entire “light spectrum”, since we are made of compressed light which is energy compressed into matter (elemental mass). All life will respond to light. We are a recorder of all forms of the light spectrum we have experienced. When I see something it is transmitted through my eyes. Images are formed at nodal points like a kaleidoscope of mirrors with their ability to focus light. This make the geometric shapes of life that are recorded in the brain/body holographically.

CC 3.0

When I hear or feel something it is transformed by the brain into a holographic image. This would also explain our feelings of a sixth sense that we don't normally see. Once these experiences are recorded they can and are projected back out to others. The projection of this crystallization of light (hologram) also has an image that is called the aura, or the ethereal body, that is seen by some and felt by others who are in tune harmonically to these frequencies. Anyone who has fallen in love feels it.

Spiritual matter is more re ned and pure, but is matter none the less that operates in a di erent dimension. We become aware of how to use these other dimensions as we nd our oneness with the universe. We can nd this oneness through a number of ways such as meditation, pondering, praying, etc.

We need to talk about the mediums we are using to access this energy and which dimension we are using to perform these acts of faith to create things. For example we hear sound through the medium of air that travels at 700 mph (mach 1 the sound barrier) and a cellphone that sends a signal at the speed of light [670,000,000 mph (mach 900,000)].

You can set up an experiment to demonstrate the two mediums of air and the electromagnetic spectrum. If a person standing some distance from you calls you on the cell phone you will have mixed signals because you will now experience the event through two mediums. As you listen through the cell phone you will hear the conversation before it comes through the air. I use this example to demonstrate that there are other dimensions such as the fth dimension of energy used by the brain to create holograms that don't match our intuitions and will give us a di erent concept of what is happening to us or around us.

Meta materials form images in a negative index of refraction that are contrary to our intuition, by causing light to appear to bend backwards or the red shift of the universe to become a blue shift. Instead of the universe appearing to expand according to our instruments of deduction and formulas, it would be compressing. Light appears to do many strange things when passed through the magnetic eld of meta material. It makes the pencil you put in a glass of water appear to bend back out of the water. We have a lot more to learn about who we are and how we relate to the many facets of the universe.

Musical harmonics have similar frequency distributions as light and color vibrations. They are sympathetic to us because we are made of the same substance as the universe and will resonate as one with the universe. Music creates a desired state of consciousness.

Some believe that health is all about consciousness thinking and altering our minds. Being out of balance requires adjustments to the thinking that creates the holographic image of who you want to be. Anyone seeking for a transformation of their life must rst imagine and create the spiritual form (purest form) and then solidify it as action in this physical world. We can heal ourselves by creating the harmonic balances we need from all forms of energy that are essential to life.

Herbs and essential oils contain frequencies to change consciousness, even create psychedelic experiences by over stimulation.

When we use color frequencies or music to heal us it is helpful to understand some of the geometry that makes us one with the

Harmonics of all sorts follow geometric patterns that design and shape us. These patterns are expressed in mathematical formulas and relate to the golden ratio and sacred geometry. universe.

Our human mind/body is created in the same proportions. Is it any wonder then that we have a holographic form of thinking and responding to related frequencies?

Morphotropic Phase Boundaries (MPB) are the transitional areas in crystallized elements where the energy exchange takes place. It is the border (scalar) region where the transition from one form of existence to another takes place: from order to disorder, magnetic to non-magnetic state , or however the entities which meet at the boundary are to be interpreted. Shapes changing from tetragonal to rhombohedral, not allowed by symmetry, are mediated by intermediate phases of mono clinic symmetry, and the high electromechanical response in this region is related to this “phase transition” because of symmetry allowed Polarization Rotation.

The Evolutionary Mind

In the Renaissance cosmology of John Dee, mathematics is seen as the joint therapist of Father Sky and Mother Earth, or a kind of an intellectual, spiritual, elastic medium connecting up the heavenly realms and Gaia herself. That puts mathematics on the same level as the Logos, or the Holy Spirit. Let’s consider that for the sake of discussion. Having seen mathematics as a language of space/time pattern, let me ask you this, Terence and Rupert: To what extent could the psychedelic vision of the Logos be externalized, either by verbal descriptions or by computer simulations, or by drawings of inspired visionary artists? On the other hand, in what ways could mathematical vision serve the spirit, and extend the mind? Is there a role, in other words, for this kind of thing in our main concerns? To give you a fast-forward toward the answer, let me read a couple of things from your writings.

Conversation on Science, Imagination & Spirit

excerpts from The Evolutionary Mind

DMT Idea by L Brown First, from Terence’s Food of the Gods: The archaic revival is a clarion call to recover our birthright, however uncomfortable that may make us. It is a call to realize that life lived in the absence of the psychedelic experience, upon which primordial shamanism is based, is life trivialized, life denied! Life enslaved to the ego and its fear of dissolution in the mysterious matrix of feeling that is all around us. It is in the archaic revival that our transcendence of the historical dilemma actually lies. There is something more. It is now clear that the new developments in many areas including mind machine interfacing, pharmacology of the synthetic variety, and data storage imaging and retrieval techniques are coalescing into the potential for a truly demonic, or an angelic self-imaging of our culture.

“Can the psychedelic state be visualized with technologies ranging from paint and brush to super computers?” I think it can. Terrance McKenna

We are reborn into a living world

Our second passage is from Rupert’s The Rebirth of Nature: As soon as we allow ourselves to think of the world as alive, we recognize that a part of us knew this all along. It is like emerging from winter into spring. We can begin to reconnect our mental life with our own direct, intuitive experiences of nature. We can participate in the spirits of sacred places and times. We can see that we have much to learn from traditional societies who have never lost their sense of connection with the living world around them. We can ac- knowledge the animistic traditions of our ancestors, and we can begin to develop a richer understanding of human nature, shaped by a tradition and collective memory, linked to the earth and the heavens, related to all forms of life and consciously open to the creative power expressed in all evolution. We are reborn into a living world.

Rupert Sheldrake

Terence McKenna: The nuts and bolts question posed in all of this is, “Can the psychedelic state be visualized with technologies ranging from paint and brush to super computers?” I think it can. I think it’s not, in principle, mysterious. It may be eeting, like the situation that follows upon the splitting of the atom. It may be remote. But it is in principle describable. It’s a domain to be explored. It’s simply a matter of paying attention, gaining inspiration, and gaining skill of technical execution.

RA: Any models that we can build, verbal, visual, or mathematical, are feeble compared to the experience itself. On the other hand, this experience is within all, and without all, and we are immersed in the spiritual world, so the tiniest reso- nance from the feeblest model may su ce to excite, as poetry excites emotion, spirit. The essence of communication is to have a compact representation of an experience that’s in - nitely complex. The representations have to be really simple. Representation restricted to verbal mode alone might be too feeble to excite by resonance, the similar state. Not every per- son is going to become a cephalopod. Not every person has the time to become a shaman. We need, however, a certain num- ber of shamans in our culture to help to reconnect human society and the play in the sky. We need some kind of amplifying and communicating device between the few people who are our real shamans, let’s say sacred artists of the future, and the mass society watching MTV. The question is, can these means be of use to the clarion call that you’ve given in your book?

TM: I think that what makes it confusing is when you go into these

fl

domains, the encounter is so emotionally powerful. The situation is so novel that the experiment tends to assume that this emotional power is coming from the input. It’s not. It’s coming from the encounter with the input. It’s like posing the question, “Can you make a stirring record of the Grand Canyon?” Yes, you can with a helicopter-mounted camera. But the emotion you have watching it, you bring to it. The psychedelic dimension is objective, but it’s also so awesome and so di erent from what we know that it encourages and promotes and triggers awe in us. We bring something to it, which we can never image, or reduce to a verbal description or a piece of lm. The thing itself is just more of reality, like the heart of the cell, or radar maps of the Venusian surface or the center of the atom.

much.

TM: We need more of this mental Logos world. It’s a world that we’ve lost the connection with. These computer programs, psychedelic drugs, dynamic modeling schemes are the equivalent of probes, like Voyager. They’re sent not to an alien planet, but to an alien phase-space of some sort, one that we need connection to.

Rupert Sheldrake: I agree. The problem is that the emotional intensity of a psychedelic experience is totally di erent from seeing a computer graphic display. It’s possible to get something a bit like that just by shaking a kaleidoscope and looking into it. In these expensive novelty shops that dot California, you can nd fancy, beautifully made kaleidoscopes. You look through them, and you can see a dazzling display of pattern and color, but within a few seconds you’re just bored. Nobody ever really looks at them for very long. Somehow they lose meaning. It’s no longer engaging.

I think the di erence between representation of the state and being in the state itself is this sense of nding meaning, engagement and intensity. I for one, as a botanist, am very drawn to owers. I love looking at owers. Sometimes you can look at a whole garden full of owers like here in Esalen, and it’s quite meaningless. At other times you can look at a single ower for a long time, you can go into it. It’s like a mandala. You enter into that realm, and it takes on incredible meaning, beauty and signi cance. The same with butter ies and many other natural creations. It seems to me the problem is how to enter into that engagement, intensity and sense of meaning, rather than the representation of the pattern itself. There are plenty of patterns around in the natural world.

time pattern, we have no language for individual space/time patterns. As experienced by us, there is a kind of a resonance between patterns that somehow makes a resonance with di erent patterns of neurotransmitters in the visual cortex. Some aspects are perceived and other aspects are not, remaining invisible to our perception.

You’ve been speaking of owers in the garden, or the images in the kaleidoscope. These are static patterns, and we have an extensive verbal language for that. What I’m suggesting is an expansion of our visual/linguistic capability in the direction of a universal language for space/time pattern, such that we could truly speak of our experiences and give them names. At the mere drop of a word or a code, an I-75, Highway 1, Highway 0, we would transmit a clear image of space/time pattern along with whatever emotion we remember from the experience. If we can awaken these feelings in the mind of the listener, we can intellectualize, understand, reconnect and converse with the space/time pattern of the spiritual world.

Let’s face it, we have the most extensive experience of this world through visual metaphors of, well, movies. We experience the Logos as movies. We don’t experience it as words, although there are sounds, and there is sometimes writing on the wall like gra ti. Basically reality is an in nite eld of consciousness, of vibration, of waves moving, of intelligence. When we travel in this realm, we go somewhere we’ve been before and we recognize it, and that excites in us memory, which is reinforced and extended, and upon this experience we base further experiment. We three have had our many experiences, which I have great faith, are similar, even universal experiences, and yet we are absolutely speechless in verbalizing them to each other. Words fail us.

expression is universal, then it has an a nity for the universal mind. What’s interesting about the example of the kaleidoscope is that the kaleidoscope gets boring after a few minutes. If you analyze how it works, and take it apart, the base units in most kaleidoscopes are pieces of broken glass, pebbles, detritus, junk. Somehow splitting this into six sections with a mirror and putting it in heavy oil is supposed to bring you into the realm of something endlessly watchable and interesting. But it doesn’t.

“Here in this pattern is the footprint of meaning.” The brain machines being produced in Germany are the same way. All pattern seems to quickly lose its charm unless it’s pattern that has been put through the sieve of the mind. We enjoy looking at the ruins and artifacts of vanished civilizations a lot more than random arrangements of natural objects. It seems to me what we’re looking for when we say the MPP (Massively Parallel Processor) data on chaos is like a DMT trip, what we’re saying is, “Here in this pattern is the footprint of meaning.” It’s as though an architect passed through. We’re always looking for the betraying presence of an order that is more than an order of economy and pure function. We look for an aesthetic order, and when we nd that, then we have this reciprocal sense of recognition and transcendence, and this is what the psychedelic experience provides in spades.

A critic of the psychedelic experience would object saying, “Of course it’s made of mind. It’s made of your mind.” For the psychedelic voyager, the intuition is made of mind, but not made of my mind. Either there’s an identity problem, or a real frontier of communication is being crossed. When we look for living pattern, or aesthetically satisfying order, what we really look for is a sign that mind has somehow touched the random processes of nature.

RS: The limiting factor seems to be neither the richness of display that we nd in nature, nor the language that we communicate with, but rather the ability to go into something with intensity of vision. I don’t think language is a limiting problem. For example, music can be written down in a language. I can read music, but for me it doesn’t come to life from this language. I have to hear it for it to come to life. Presumably mathematical notation is a way of notating things in the mathematical landscape, which comes alive for mathematicians.

Take the realm of plants again. If you look at the incredible richness of botany, of ower forms, there is a language for this, used by botanists and orists, describing the species of plants in technical jargon. Even so, it doesn’t mean that most botanists spend most of their time contemplating the beauty of owers. They’re rushing to the next committee meeting or getting their next paper ready for publication in a technical journal. Somehow there isn’t much time to actually enter into these realms, even for people whose profession it is to be concerned with them. We’re neither short of images nor of languages in many realms, but rather of the time, the space, and the inclination to enter.

RA: Music is a good metaphor. Let’s just think of this for a minute. I don’t propose that a mathematical model of a brain or a plant would be as wonderful as a brain or a plant. Life will not be replaced by language. Nevertheless, the evolution of music has been enormously facilitated by having a graphic language that to some extent recalls the actual musical experience. This is the role that I’m proposing for mathematics, not to replace the Earth or the heavenly realms, but to facilitate their understanding through an analog on the same level as musical sta notation, pertaining to the visual experience of space/time patterns.

What I’m suggesting is an increase in our encyclopedia of models, extending language, so that we can name, store, retrieve, and recreate not the experience itself, but the data, for the sake of communication. This is exactly what musical sta notation did for music. It pertains not only to the spiritual experience, but also to fundamental questions on the future of human society. Can we understand the space/time nature of the planet well enough, since it’s so complex, to be sensitive enough to cooperate with it? If we can’t even understand what we’re seeing when we look, there’s not much we can do to co- operate. Biogeography, for example, is a botanical eld that could be revolutionized by a sta notation for space/time pattern.

RA: I want to end by saying this: Mathematics is part of the natural world. It’s a landscape that can be explored, simply and directly, and with incredible pleasure, delight and advancement, just like the psychedelic Logos, or any other aspect of the world. The mathematical landscape does not belong to the human species. It belongs not even to the earth, but to the sky. It’s part of the in nite universe we live in. Whatever microscopes, telescopes, kaleidoscopes, or computer graphic tools we can devise to enhance our vision of the mathematical universe is de nitely advantageous. How this will t into society, however, is a problem. We are in an evolutionary challenge from which the human species may not survive. I feel that part of our di culty is our culture’s rejection of mathematics. Mathematics is essentially the marriage of Father Sky and Mother Earth. I’ve given my life work to understand this relationship between the psychedelic and the mathematical vision. So I’ll leave it there.

The following instruments of Dr.Korotkov's lab were utilized. They are as follows: 1. EPI/GDV PRO 2. ECO SENSOR + SPUTNIK (Measuring energy and information of the ceremonial spaces) 3. MINI LABORATORY (For study of the Ayahuasca Tea)

Study details: 1. Eight subjects including the Shaman Priestess Tismara were the study group. 2. Five females and three males ranging in ages from 30 to 65 years and in good health were the participants for the study, including Krishna. 3. All the participants were professionals ranging in elds from science to law and business. 4. EPI/GDV data was gathered in the following steps: a. Before the ceremony. b. 1 1/2 to 2 hrs after drinking the tea. (4 people) c. After the ceremony.

Summary of results: 1. The parameter which records Energy Field termed "AREA" increased in 5 people and decreased in 3 people. 2. The parameter which records "ENTROPY" decreased in 3 people and increased in 5 people. 3. The parameter which illustrates the alignment to our cosmic nature was enhanced for all the participants conveyed in the "CHAKRA" charts. The readings of the 8 participants had a common uni ed "chakra" signature. The order of CHAKRA signature alignments and empowerments to the cosmic eld were observed in this uni ed pattern: a. Pre and Post Human Energy Field. (Speci c #’s have been assigned to indicate pre + post events)

Observing the chakra eld (Pre), it’s clear of Tismara’s natural waking state, which is rooted in power and strength leading into the ceremony. This is illustrated in the Root (Muladhara) to Heart (Anahata) to Crown’s (Sahasrara) alignment. The Throat (Vishuddha) which is larger than all the other chakras represents the communicative aspects that lead into the start of ceremony. Many words conveyed expressing direction and alignment in the pre preparation, which is seeded in organizing towards the ceremonial night. Emotional components are also observed as we observe zone # 5 in the Energy Field, that shows the opening on the right hemisphere (Intuitive/emotional brain) opening. As angel Chavakia continues her guiding process to the voyagers that numbered over 24, the (post) chakra eld has condensed in size enunciating a lightness of being as the 3rd eye chakra, “Ajna” (eye of cosmic vision) is expanded and the throat has normalized. OM The 3rd chakra (Manipura) is minimized in size and aligned towards the left (Physical valuation), with the 1st (Muladhara) slightly skewed to the right (emotional valuation) is holding space for all as vividly expressed in the Energy Field through #’s 7 + 8. This observation is akin to a centrifuging processs across the spinal column so as to clear the stagnations that are potentially resident in the voyagers elds!

Having participated both as the researcher and a galactic voyager, surrendered to the cosmic moments ahead, this was my request into the ceremony: “Knowing we are the universe and the universe resides within (Vedic Mantra), utilize me, guide me, inspire me, empower me and enrich all the moments that enhance our integral living across the Universe.”

Sri Aurobindo’s conveyance reverberated as this request was injected to the universe: “The way of yoga is not only to rise out of the ignorant world consciousness into the Divine consciousness, but to bring the Supramental power of that Divine consciousness down to the ignorance of mind, life and body, to transform them and create a Divine in matter.”

is the name given to both the central

ingredient of a South American Indian psychoactive potion (a species of the Banisteriopsis genus) and the potion itself. Almost invariably other plants are mixed together with the jungle vine Banisteriopsis; about a hundred di erent species are known to have been added to the potion at di erent times and places. Ayahuasca has been used in a number of countries in South and Central America, including Panama, Brazil, Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and Bolivia, and by at least seventy di erent indigenous peoples of the Americas. In addition to ayahuasca, other native names include yajé, caapi, natema, pindé, kahi, mihi, dápa and bejuco de oro, the last meaning 'vine of gold'.

Krishna Madappa

Ayahuasca itself means 'vine of the soul'.

'vine of the soul'

Ayahuasca is made in the form of a drink or potion. The bark of the Banisteriopsis vine is either mashed to a pulp and then mixed with cold water or, in other regional methods of making the potion, it is boiled for a number of hours and then the resulting liquid is consumed. Ayahuasca gained a reputation for providing telepathic powers and a psychoactive alkaloid found to be present in it was named telepathine (now known to be the same as the alkaloid harmine found in Syrian rue).

ff

ff

ff

ff

Harmaline is also present in both ayahuasca and Syrian rue. Other psychoactive plants are often added to Ayahuasca to achieve visionary states of consciousness; for example leaves from Psychotria viridis, which is a source of dimethyltryptamine (DMT). The harmala alkaloids serve to potentiate t h e s e brewed compounds by preventing their breakdown in the digestive tract. The harmala alkaloids are not especially psychoactive on their own, even at high dosages, when vomiting and diarrhea become the main e ect.

How Ayahuasca Works Scienti c analysis isolated the main chemicals responsible for the hallucinogenic properties of ayahuasca. In 1923, Fischer analyzed the B. caapi vine and isolated a compound he named telepathine (from the telepathic powers one reportedly gains when under the in uence of ayahuasca). It was not until 1969 that a full chemical analysis was carried out (Shultes & Ho man, 1992), and the compound was actually found contain three active molecules harmine, harmiline, and d-1,2,3,4- tetrahydroharmine. Harmine and harmiline were shown to be the primary molecules of the B. caapi vine responsible for the altered state of the ayahuasca drinker; however, these chemicals alone could not account for the intense visions and experiences of ayahuasca.

The beta-carboline chemicals like harmine found in the B. caapi vine can be psychedelic, but only in toxic doses (McKenna, 1993). Further research revealed P. viridis (chakruna) as a common admixture to ayahuasca. Assays showed this plant to contain small but signi cant amounts of the potent hallucinogen DMT or N, Ndimethyltryptamine. However, DMT is rendered in active when taken orally. How does the DMT in chakruna get into the blood when drinking ayahuasca? In the presence of the harmine (found in the B. caapi vine), DMT from the P. viridis plant becomes orally active in the body. Harmine alkaloids inhibit enzymes in the stomach that normally destroy DMT. In other words, the B. caapi vine allows the hallucinogen DMT to make its way to the brain to help induce hallucinations (Turner, 1994). Of the thousands of plants in the Amazon rain forest, only these two types of plants when combined and drank will allow the user to experience a slow, sustained release of DMT and the resulting hallucinations.

"SOMA" the divine elixir of the deep VEDIC practices evoked a mantra from the Yajur Veda which read as follows: " purnamadah purnamidam purnat purnamudachyate purnasya purnamadaya purnamevavashisyate ~ Om shantih shantih shanti. " OM Interpretation: "What is visible is the in nite. What is invisible is also the in nite. Out of the In nite Being the nite has come, yet being in nite, only in nite remains. was originally thought to be the active chemical

constituent of Banisteriopsis caapi, a key plant ingredient in the preparation of Ayahuasca; a sacramental beverage from the Amazon. This isolated chemical was so named because of the reported e ects of Ayahuasca among the indigenous users, including: collective contact with and/or visions of jaguars, snakes, and jeweled birds, and ancestral spirits; the ability to see future events; and as the name suggests, telepathic communication among tribal members.

Experimental data seem to strongly suggest that biological systems present nonlocal properties not explainable by classical modes. Most of the nonlocal communications is probably lost within the normal brain wave or EEG noise, otherwise we would be incapable of functioning normally and would overload when confronted with such an in ux of data. A series of experiments involving human subjects is proposed, with an objective to test for possible extraterrestrial communications occurring in the subjects' brain.

Individuals can receive within their brains, frequencies that are very likely used by extraterrestrials for communication purposes. While most individuals lter these out in order to function normally, it is very possible to access and interpret these brain frequencies. This makes it feasible for individuals to be trained to access these frequency bands in ways that makes communication with extraterrestrial intelligences possible. This would enable the development of a scienti c protocol for "Controlled Superluminal

Author: K. Korotkov This book is dedicated to the presentation of the scienti c foundations and practical applications of the Gas Discharge Visualization (GDV) technique. This technique represents a revolutionary new method for the study of biological subjects, namely biological energy elds. This research extends scienti c tradition, developed in Russia in the twentieth century. The Human Energy Field carries information on physical, mental and spiritual states of a human being, and the GDV Bioelectrography technique is the rst method in the world which gives an opportunity to study this information. Utilizing the latest advances in technology, such as microelectronics, computer imaging, and data mining, scientists have been able to create an entirely new class of scienti c instruments that allow the practitioner to view, measure and analyze biological subjects in a manner that has never been possible before. The GDV technique has been found to have numerous highly important applications in medicine, sports, consciousness studies, material testing and other areas, discussed in this book… Measuring Energy Fields: State of the Science Author: K. Korotkov Volume I in the GDV Bioelectrography series presents recent studies and applications of the Gas Discharge Visualisation (GDV) technique. Our previous books were created by a small group of associates. This volume presents a wide range of articles by authors from different countries. After seven years of development, the GDV techniques entered a new stage of “catalytic growth” with innovative methods emerging from various laboratory and clinical settings. Research by independent groups around the world demonstrates that the GDV technique provides methods for recording subtle dynamics in the energy elds of objects with various natures. GDV assessment methods are demonstrated to have a wide range of important applications in medicine, sports performance, materials testing, as well as analytic studies of human consciousness and spiritual healing. The Seven Stages of

Alchemy with

Metamusic

The Monroe Institute's® pioneering work in the studies of consciousness, expanded states of awareness, and the development of technologies using music, suggestion, and binaural beats is a modern example of similar pursuits by the alchemists of old. In fact, the intersections between science, spirituality, consciousness studies, and use of subtle energies share a common history rooted in the ancient tradition of alchemy. The times in our history when the ancient art of alchemy was the science of the day were times when synergy abounded, creativity flourished, innovation blossomed, life was full of wonder, and science was sacred.

Article by Theresa Bullard

®

In reading this you might be thinking, "Wait a minute, I thought alchemy was an archaic tradition of attempting to turn base metals into gold. What does that have to do with consciousness?" This common stereotype has greatly obscured what the true tradition of alchemy is about. The old "lead into gold" fables were more of a metaphorical language that revealed how we can transform ourselves inside and out as well as purify and perfect raw materials from nature.

What really is alchemy then? Alchemy is the epitome of an art and science that has discovered and preserved the secrets of how to expand awareness and harness subtle energies, both macroscopically and microscopically.

Ultimately, the

primary objective of alchemy is to raise the subtle vibratory frequency of ourselves and the material world by clearing negative patterns, purifying body, mind, and soul, and thereby achieving our full potential. Alchemy holds the keys to both practical methods and deeper understanding for harnessing consciousness to influence the material world, a possibility that is being rediscovered in today's popular culture. It seeks to expand awareness and direct subtle energies to transform nature into a

perfected state.

These goals of perfecting nature and the self are achieved in alchemy through a very specific, scientific, and intentional process of seven stages of transformation and purification. At the most simple level, these seven stages involve... 1. breaking down the old, imperfect forms to release the essence trapped within; 2. separating out the various essential components that were released to gain clarity; 3. purifying the separate parts to eliminate any impurities; 4. recombining the various purified essences into a more harmonious and balanced whole; 5. raising the energetic vibration of the recombined substance;

Through these seven stages, we take a transformative journey to reclaim and awaken the "gold" within ourselves. Upon completion of an alchemical cycle, a whole new level of consciousness is awakened within, allowing us to experience a greater sense of wholeness and selfactualization.

6. continuing to refine and purify the specimen through more cycles of separation and recombination; and 7. ultimately transforming or transmuting the original psyche or material into a state of beauty, integrity, and incorruptibility.

Music's Role in Alchemy One of the essential tools used by alchemists to create the inner transformations they sought was music and vibrational energy. Music has long been recognized by many traditions as a powerful tool for expanding awareness and shifting vibration. As Joachim-Ernst Berendt said in The World is Sound: Nada Brahma: Music and the Landscape of Consciousness, "Our ears are the gateway to transcendence," and music is the bridge. Musical tones can affect virtually every function in our body. The types of music we listen to can help us improve our health, explore inner realms, and enhance our creative and mental performance. There is documented evidence that alchemists from around the world frequently used specific types of sound, frequency, and musical instruments in their work. Alchemical artwork often depicts musical instruments somewhere within the setting of an alchemist's laboratory. The alchemists recognized the effectiveness of music for helping them harness their consciousness and entrain their mind and body into coherent, expanded states of awareness. Once in a coherent and elevated state, they were able to achieve quantum leaps in the transformational process.

Alchemists have long held sacred the patterns of creation written upon the face of nature. These patterns--often termed "sacred geometries"--contain certain mystical proportions that are harmonious and conducive to life. One such proportion, known as the golden mean (1.618...), can be found again and again throughout the cosmos, in nature, and also in the human body. Because of its prominence in nature, the alchemists held all manifestations of the golden mean in high regard. The alchemists and philosophers of the ancient Pythagorean Society used a musical scale that was determined by "golden intervals," rather than the modern musical scale we are most familiar with today.

Pythagorean tuning (Greek: Πυθαγόρεια κλίµακα) is a system of musical tuning in which the frequency relationships of all intervals are based on the ratio 3:2 (the perfect fifth), "found in the harmonic series."[1] This interval is chosen because it is one of the most consonant. Attributed to Pythagoras (sixth century BC), "the Pythagorean system would appear to be ideal because of the purity, of the fifths, but other intervals, particularly the major third, are so badly out of tune that major chords [may be considered] a dissonance."[1][2] The Pythagorean scale is any scale which may be constructed from only perfect fifths and octaves[3] or the gamut of (all 12) pitches constructed from only perfect fifths and octaves and from which specific scales may be drawn. See: generated collection. For example, the series of fifths generated above gives seven notes, a diatonic major scale on C in Pythagorean tuning, shown in notation on the top right. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Pythagorean_tuning

http://www.interferencetheory.com Each of the alchemical stages of transformation is associated with one of the tones on the Pythagorean scale. In addition, each of the seven planets known by the ancients to comprise our solar system was thought to correspond to one of these alchemical notes. In their dance around the sun, the planets were thought to create a celestial symphony called the music of the spheres. It was believed that each of these alchemical notes had transformative properties when acting upon the denser manifestations of physical matter and the human body.

So important is music to the tradition of alchemy that the creation of the first musical lyre was attributed to Thoth-Hermes, the scribe of the gods and father of alchemy, science, astronomy, language, and all subjects of higher learning. This lyre was tuned to the golden mean, or

Pythagorean scale. Today, the only instruments that can produce these tones accurately are electronic music programs or instruments such as chimes and of course the lyre, which is specifically designed to be tuned to that scale. Through experience and observation of natural rhythms, alchemists learned to use the phenomenon of entrainment in their own practice and experiments. First they used it to entrain themselves into the desired state of consciousness, then they used it to create a harmonic field within their environment in order to influence their experiments in a positive way. Whether their experiment was performed upon the self, an individual seeking healing, or an herb or mineral that they were using to create a remedy, entrainment to a higher vibrational state was an essential step in alchemy.

The Alchemical Use of METAMUSIC If alchemists had understood the phenomenon of brain waves and hemispheric synchronization as today's scientists do, and had they possessed tools similar to METAMUSIC to achieve the states of consciousness they sought, they would have certainly found their "gold" much faster. Alchemy is already an accelerated path to transformation, and music is essential in achieving that, but METAMUSIC allows us to take this even farther and faster. M E TA M U S I C i s u s e d t o c r e a t e i n n e r transformations within our consciousness, our brains, and our bodies--the very same goals that alchemists had. This "designer music"--combined with its embedded layers of binaural-beat patterns that directly entrain the brain into desired states--is a vital tool for creating the kinds of alchemical transformation needed on the planet today. In a sense, the Hemi-Sync® and METAMUSIC technologies already stimulate a kind of alchemical process for the brain. They accomplish several stages of the transformative process in entraining the

listener into a whole-brain expanded state of awareness. For example, these technologies guide the listener through a process of first detaching from the outer mundane world, turning inward to the subconscious realm, separating the left and right hemispheric activities in the brain using binaural signals, and then eliciting synchronization or harmonization between these two sides. This sequence coincides with the first four stages of alchemical transformation. Once the whole-brain state is achieved, the brain is then entrained into an expanded state of consciousness and allowed to rest in this for a while, often revealing a vision or allowing the listener to tap into fresh ideas and inner guidance corresponding to the fifth stage of alchemy. And through immersion programs, such as the GATEWAY VOYAGE®, this process is repeated again and again: each time going to a new level of expansion and vibration, ultimately leading the listener to connect with a deeper sense of self. This completes the sixth and seventh stages of the alchemical process. The result can be likened to a rewiring of the brain in which new neural connections are formed and the brain functions are transformed into a permanently enhanced state.

Through understanding the scientific sequence of alchemical transformation, we can further select specific METAMUSIC compositions to accompany each stage of alchemy in appropriate sequence for enhanced and expedited transformation. I have done this in my workshops with great success. Selections I have used for this purpose include Breakthrough, Into the Deep, Cycles, Lightfall, Remembrance, Touching Grace, Between the Worlds, Ascension, Inner Journey, and Higher. The broad selection of METAMUSIC available today allows for a number of options that achieve goals corresponding to each stage of alchemy.

Combining a doctorate in physics and an interdisciplinary research background encompassing quantum t h e o r y, nanotechnology, origin of life studies, and crystal chemistry, Theresa Bullard embraces and epitomizes the new paradigm of synthesizing knowledge from a variety of fields to c r e a t e a n e w s y n e r g y. Following a lifelong path of exploring ancient metaphysical teachings, c on s c iou s ness ex pan si on , subtle energies, alchemy, and holistic medicine, she brings fresh ideas to the new study of science and spirituality. She possesses the much-soughtafter ability to communicate these concepts in an inspiring and profoundly practical way that every generation from every background can understand and incorporate for real results.

This premise could be taken even further by developing an alchemical METAMUSIC series specifically targeted toward eliciting each of the seven stages. For example, by using musical compositions based on the appropriate fundamental note and energy that correspond to each stage, as well as Fibonacci series or golden mean binauralbeat patterns embedded below the music, the user would be entrained to a particular alchemical stage. Doing so would assist individuals to move through these stages with greater ease when they arise naturally, which occurs frequently. What a great melding of both ancient and modern technologies that would be!

Connecting through the Space Between Us A new understanding is emerging from the laboratories of the most cu ng-edge physicists, biologists, and psychologist that challenges the very way we conceive of ourselves. Fron er biologists, psychologists, and sociologists have all found evidence

tti

ti

that individuals are far less individual than we thought they were.

Between the smallest particles of our being, between our body and our environment, between ourselves and all of the people with whom we are in contact, between every member of every societal cluster, there is a Bond—a connection so integral and profound that there is no longer a clear demarcation between the end of one thing and the beginning of another. The world essentially operates, not through the activity of individual things, but in the connection between them— in a sense, in the space between things. Rather than a will to compete and dominate, the essential impulse of all of life is a will to connect. The crises we face today have occurred precisely because the lives we’ve chosen to lead are not consistent with our truest nature as givers and sharers. Consciousness

Yantra meditation helps us clear the content of our consciousness so it can become a pure mirror, re ecting without interpreting. All That Is exists in nitely in this emptiness, this no-thingness. When the mirror of our consciousness is left without any content, this is enlightenment.

Yantras are inspired artworks and designs based on the principles of sacred geometry used for meditation. Each yantra design contains a centre point or “dot” from which geometric shapes and designs radiate. Traditionally, such symbols are used to balance the mind or focus it on spiritual concepts, and the act of meditating on a yantra

Yantra By Ivan Rados

Imagination Did you know that the brain doesn’t distinguish between what’s real and what isn’t? We can harness this “incapacity” and use it to visualize whatever we wish to achieve.

The brain produces hormones that correspond to the sensations of actualization, as if what we were imagining were happening. Our subconscious mind, the giant driving force of humankind, reads these sensations as instructions concerning which direction to take in further creating our reality.

For example, if we spend much of our time in fear, imagining the worst, our “naïve” brain coupled with our “narrow-minded” subconscious do their best to manifest fearful circumstances. But if we make a conscious choice to experience our inherent peace, joy, and love, the subconscious will lead us to these kinds of experiences.

There’s a huge di erence between experiencing our inherent peace, joy, and love, and fooling ourselves with an intellectual idea of peace, joy, and love. Intellect, the energy of the left-brain, is the “dry” part of our mind, creating thoughts but not actual experiences. It functions with logic, against imagination, and its conclusion is always the same: “This is foolishness.”

If we believe our left brain, we may achieve some kind of mental clarity and direction, but we lose our aliveness.

The right brain is the hemisphere of love and poetry. It’s intuitive, receptive, and full of creative possibilities.

In nite creativity is in nitely imaginative and works through this right brain. Imagination is the creative energy of our essence, our spirit.

Imagination brings something from the unknown world into the known world, from the in nite into three-dimensional experience.

By denying imagination, we create our own nightmare. During the day, we behave as if we had no imagination. But when we sleep, our dreams haunt us and are lled with fear because our imagination has been suppressed.

We are asked to absorb everything we experience, then pour what we have absorbed into our imagination. In other words, we rst become receptive, then imaginative, and nally creative.

ff

fi

fi

ff

fi

fi

fi

fi

One caveat: imagination isn’t real but made of dream stu . Only the experiencer, the observer, the witness—our One Self—is real. The trick is to remain aware of the one who is dreaming, so that we use our imagination but don’t allow ourselves to be used by it.

Existence is an exclamation of sheer joy, the welling up of joyful creativity that requires neither cause nor reason.

Joy

The materialistic life is one in which money, power, and prestige dominate. It is a feature of the egoic mind, which is only interested in our productivity, ef ciency, and obedience, not in our joyfulness. In contrast, consciousness is all about joyfulness. The spiritual life is one in which joy simply radiates. If we want a naturally joyful life, all we need to do is ignore our mind and let our heart direct us. Restoring our heart to its rightful status as master is real spirituality. Perhaps you are suffering. The thing to be aware of is that we are not our suffering: we are ultimate joy. We are asked not to run from suffering, trying to forget, but to allow it to just “be.” Suffering isn’t our natural state: joy is. Since joy can neither be created nor destroyed, it blossoms whenever we are simply “being.” We then experience the natural joy contained in each moment. Because we are in the now, every cell of our body, every ber of our being, nods in tremendous joy. The moment we try to experience joy instead of simply allowing it to arise, we have entered duality. The key to avoiding this is not to identify with joy, but just enjoy it. In other words, joy isn’t something we have to try to feel. All that’s needed is to embrace the now. Without any help from our thoughts or dreams, we nd ourselves being spontaneously joyful.

fi

fi

fi

When we aren’t in the now, our joy turns into a conditional state in which we uctuate between happiness and unhappiness. Joy isn’t the same as happiness. Whereas happiness and unhappiness come and go, joy is our birthright.

fl

Our natural state is harmonious joy—a joy that springs from deep tranquility and stillness, free of tension, stress, anxiety, or fear.

1. Position the yantra so its centre is at eye level and a comfortable distance away. Sit with your spine straight. If this isn’t possible, nd a comfortable position in which you can remain alert. Breathe in and out slowly until your breath ows naturally. Begin with your eyes open, simply gazing at the yantra. It’s necessary to look only at the center of the sacred geometry yantra, focusing on the dot in the middle of the symbol, trying not to blink or blinking as little as possible. Gaze at the centre for fteen minutes. The key is to maintain a receptive, alert frame of mind, without drawing any conclusions, and free of concepts or thoughts. As you feel yourself gathering consciousness, allow yourself to ow with the momentum of this consciousness. 2. When your awareness begins to shift inward, close your eyes. Now watch the yantra imprinted in your mind’s eye, allowing it to gradually guide you within. 3. Do nothing, and you will nd yourself participating in pure consciousness without the mind de ning it. In other words, you will feel no need to tell yourself such things as “this is the experience I have been seeking” or “this is what people mean when they talk about enlightenment.” 4. Forget about looking for results as you meditate. Meditation brings us to a place of sensitivity wherein we experience a great interconnectedness with All That Is. This sensitivity generates a loving intimacy with everything we see, smell, touch, taste, hear, and intuit.

fl

fi

fl

fi

fi

5. Meditation doesn’t bring joy, but joy comes when we are meditative. To be joyous requires a drastic shift in our perception of reality and a drastic change in our way of life. When this occurs, we are born again and sensitivity pours innocently from our “empty” heart. When you are ready, you may wish to take a deep breath, begin to move your toes and ngers, open your eyes, and become aware of your surroundings once again.

The Universe: Both mystics and scientists agree that beneath the visible veil of our separate physical reality, everything within the Universe exists as a uni ed whole or oneness. While scientists have come to understand and describe this oneness through their intellects, the mystics have come to understand and know it through meditation and personal experience Our original home is where our physical and non-physical realities unite. We have called this unity God, Allah, Brahma, Great Spirit, Tao, Source, Beloved, Universe, Existence, and Presence. Buddha described it as emptiness or nothingness, and Zen describes it as isness, suchness, or the original face. Scientists have described it as the zero point energy or a quantum vacuum sea within which everything oats. I like to call it the Absolute. The Absolute is not Christian, Buddhist, Jewish, Hindu, or whatever beliefs we create around it. The Absolute is fundamentally unknowable, indescribable, intangible, and inseparable from all that is. To grasp this intellectually is to have a kind of understanding about God,

fl

.

fi

but to experience it is to become God.

Our Original Home

by Eliza Mada Dalian

Excerpted from In Search of the Miraculous: Healing into Consciousness

Although it is impossible to describe it, those who have experienced it agree that within the Absolute, there is no concept of a separate “I” or “self.” Everything within it always exists in the present moment without beginning or end. The Absolute is within everything in existence, manifest or unmanifest, and it contains the life force of all past, present, and future creation Everything that manifests into a physical reality can only exist within a limited realm of time and space, which in itself is ultimately part of the timeless and limitless Absolute. Even the minutest particle within the Absolute, like the tiny seed of a plant, has an inexhaustible power that can create countless galaxies. To experience the power of the Absolute is to know God and experience the pure joy of creation The Absolute is an in nitely empty and yet full space. It appears as dark because of its depth and density. What makes the Absolute visible is the light that occasionally arises from within its emptiness Everything visible and invisible within the emptiness of the Absolute exists through different energetic frequencies and sounds. Ultimately, all frequencies unify into an unmoving state of zero frequency or vacuum. In other words, all seven sound vibrations or notes unify into silence; all thought frequencies (positive and negative) unify into nothought or no-mind; and all seven colors of the rainbow unify into pure space that appears dark when it is invisible and as light when it is visible. This is the meaning of “all is

.

.

fi

.

one, and is God.

...within the Absolute, there is no concept of a separate “I” or “self.”

As the human intellect is only a part of the Absolute, it is impossible to comprehend the emptiness or oneness of the Absolute, or what is beyond time and space, with the intellect alone. The Absolute can only be known through experience Like two sides of the same coin, the Absolute can be divided into two major parts: unconscious energy, which absorbs all colors and sounds and appears as darkness; and conscious energy, which re ects all colors and sounds and appears as light. Unconscious energy has no self-awareness and contains dormant power with the potential to create, while conscious energy is aware of itself and has the active power to create. All conscious energies were once unconscious. They became conscious through the development of self-awareness. Before unconscious energy is transformed into consciousness, it receives nourishment from other conscious energies in the same way that life on Earth receives nourishment from the Sun When unconscious energy transforms into conscious energy, a part of the darkness within the Absolute becomes visible or known. All the suns, stars, and galaxies reveal a part of the in nite darkness. It is like turning on a light switch in a dark room. The moment you turn on the light, the darkness disappears and you see all the furniture and space that is in the room. However, even within the things in the room, such as furniture, there remains more darkness. It is like having rooms within rooms; lighting up one room reveals another. This goes on in nitely. As more darkness transforms into light, more of the Absolute becomes visible and known and the

.

fl

.

.

fi

fi

universe appears to expand

fi

All the suns, stars, and galaxies reveal a part of the in nite darkness.

As the Absolute or the universe goes on expanding, the interplay of conscious energy and unconscious energy continually changes, but its unmoving center, which is an empty void, always remains the same for both.

There is

no difference between the center of physical reality and the centre of nonphysical reality. In every cell and atom, within all that exists within the universe – the centre is the same. Our being and the being of the universe exist within this single unmoving center. And we can experience this center of stillness by observing it in a place very near to us – between our incoming and outgoing breaths, inhaling and exhaling as we go about our daily lives. We can, in other words, observe the Absolute manifesting itself through us simply by observing it through the witnessing awareness that is at the very core of our being The witnessing awareness observes everything: the incoming breath, the outgoing breath, the constant stillness or gap between the two, and all experiences of creation and destruction, births and deaths, both within and without. The witnessing awareness is the thread between the physical world of time and space and the realm of the Absolute that exists in the Now beyond time and space. Whatever the level of consciousness or unconsciousness within us, and within anything in existence, everything revolves around the unmoving center of the Absolute. Stillness and rest are necessary after each moment of destruction for the seed of creation to germinate. Living the ongoing cycle of life and death, stillness and creation, consciousness and

.

.

unconsciousness, is the essence of existence

...everything revolves around the unmoving center of the Absolute.

The Absolute creates and expands in nitely, for no particular reason other than the Joy of creation. The Joy of creation is ecstasy. The longing to experience this Joy is in the heart of all creation. Joy makes creation and expansion possible because Joy not only arises from creation but fuels it. The Absolute’s longing to create and expand is also our longing and is the purpose of all life. You have experienced this many times in your own life when in a moment of silent stillness an idea suddenly pops into your mind. As you recognize its creative potential, you feel a rush of excitement and joy. When you manifest your creative ideas in the world, you use your life force and create a meaning for your life. This ful lls your innate existential longing to experience the Joy of creation and expansion Eliza Mada Dalian, affectionately known as Mada, is a self-realized mystic, internationally acclaimed master healer, and spiritual teacher. By Robert Moss An Excerpt from Dreaming the Soul Back Home

In the Secret Library Diane’s uncle was a taxidermist. As a child, she was fascinated and also frightened by all the stuffed animals in his house. As an adult, she dreamed she returned to the room of the stuffed animals and they came alive. She understood they were not going to hurt her. They simply wanted to be understood

.

.

fl

When she journeyed back inside this dream, the taxidermy specimens came alive again and began to teach her their nature, their habits, and their gifts. The wolf showed her how he could read a group, sensing unerringly who was for real and who was not, who was strong and who was sick or weak

This time, she was able to go beyond the taxidermy room into the space of a library with books and images that re ected all of her dominant interests. She was amazed and delighted to nd that this secret library contained a book that was all about her. It seemed that she had written this book herself. The title sang to her: I Am Celebration! Returning from her journey, she leaped into the air and shouted, “I am celebration!” She resolved to live in this spirit

What is in your secret library? You have been there in dreams. But the portal to your secret library could also be provided by a life memory. You may remember an actual library where your imagination was red up by the discovery of new continents of possibility. It might be the library at your elementary school, or a public library you visited on Saturdays in childhood, or a favorite bookshop, or a book-lined room in a house, even your own home Ask yourself to pull up from memory a place like this where you were excited and inspired by new ideas and fresh inspiration. Maybe what comes to mind is a museum, or an art gallery, or a curio shop, or a toy store. Though we’ll continue to call it the secret library, the space you are seeking need not be primarily a place of books, though there is at least one book here you are going to want to read, very much indeed

We are seeking a portal, a doorway from dream or memory that will allow you to move — in a rich journey of imagination

— into a place where you can access any kind of information that

interests you, on any subject that attracts your attention. In the secret library, you may be able to consult a librarian or similar gure who can help you nd exactly what you are seeking. You may have contact with master teachers in your chosen eld or the eld that has chosen you. If you have the courage, you may even be able to look in your Book of Life, the book that will help you know more of who you are, including your connection with personalities in other lives, past and future, and the secret pattern in your current relationships. If you are very brave, when you look through your Book of Life you may be able to examine your sacred contract, which includes the assignment you agreed

.

fi

fi

fi

fi

to accept before you came into your present life experience, and its terms and conditions

Journey to the Secret Library You are about to enter a place where all elds of knowledge,

including deeper knowledge of your soul’s

purpose and connections, can open to you. The best will be revealed only as you seek it; you’ll know it when it lets you nd it, not before. So you start by setting an intention, but you remain ready to let the journey take you beyond it In the secret library, you can nd information and inspiration in any area that rouses your active curiosity and your creative spirit. Anything that stirs the creative spirit in you is a matter of soul, whether it is golf or alchemy, cooking or astronomy, landscape gardening or writing. On a journey I led to the secret library, a yacht builder discovered a blueprint that enabled him to produce a new design for a racing yacht that won an important race in the Paci c. A landscaper had an encounter with a famous landscape designer from the past, who gave him ideas for a major job in the Hamptons that was so successful that the owners of the property gave him a large bonus Not surprisingly, writers do very well in this journey. One woman writer met an antlered being who introduced himself as the spirit of her book-inprogress. He gave her speci c ideas and the titles for three books she had not yet thought of writing Remember a place like a library where you were excited by the discovery of new stories or images.

Picture yourself at the

entrance to this place.

See yourself opening the door and

stepping inside, and use all of your senses as you inhabit the space. See how

.

fi

.

.

fi

fi

fi

.

the light falls across the room, smell the books, listen for the quiet sounds

fi

EXERCISE

As you go deeper into this space, you will step beyond memory into a larger territory. There will be rooms and levels beyond the ones you know You may encounter a librarian, or custodian, who can guide you. Librarians can be very interesting people, in any reality. Borges was a librarian. Madeleine L’Engle was a volunteer librarian, in New York. Even the notorious Casanova worked as a librarian, for a prince; engage his services, and you may nd yourself in a rather adult section. In my own version of the secret library, I often encounter a librarian who looks like a tweedy Oxbridge don, with half-moon spectacles, but whose shadow is that of a bird with a long curving beak

If you are among books, you will nd that by opening any one, you can be transported into its realm.

Look at a picture, and you will

nd

that you can step through it, as through an open window. In your secret library, you may encounter master teachers in whatever eld of knowledge or endeavor compels your passion and curiosity. Dead writers are rather easy to nd. I have had many conversations with my Yeats in this space A library of this kind offers resources beyond books. You may nd yourself in a room of costumes, artifacts, maps, jewelry, even stuffed animals, whether taxidermy specimens or stuffed toys. I am pretty sure there is a library of teddy bears. You may be drawn outside, into territory where archives are kept in trees or stones.

For the past four years, Teen Journey has o ered an alternative program that dares to take the inner rather than simply the outer journey. Interacting directly with completely di erent traditions and cultures allows young people the unique opportunity to make informed choices about their world. This fall, Teen Journey teams up with Inkarri and the remarkable Juan Ruiz Naupari, in a rare invitation to visit the D a l a i L a m a ’s w o r l d - r e n o w n e d monastery where young people will be

exposed to sacred teachings, meditation and prayer. Additional work with Juan Ruiz includes Pneuma Breathwork with a brief introduction to the Path of Knowledge a syntesis of psychology and spirituality. In addition to morning satsang (listening to sacred teachings), there will be daily free time to play and interact with their peers: the young monks within the monastery, as well as visits into the bustling, rich culture of the market places and the mystery of this part of northern India.

As any parent knows, it’s no good telling teens that drugs are bad for them, or that they should wait for their brains to fully develop before they start experimenting. They are not going to listen. They are going to follow their peers and nd ways to get high, not simply because it’s a rebellious thing to do, but because drugs provide something that is essential to the human soul.

Wisdom Tools for Teens Drugs allow us to experience mind-altering states of blissful euphoria and insights into life. Often there is a greater sense of connection. During adolescence, the psyche awakens and yearns for greater meaning and purpose.

Ela Rezmer, a Vancouver, Canada interior designer and breath work facilitator, envisioned a program for youth that would empower and provide them with processes and tools they could use. She saw it as a place where everyone would be able to connect to each other, their purpose, and their own hearts. She knew there was a world of tools that would bene t young people. One of these tools was breath work, which she was in training for full certi cation.

As one teen put it, “Breathing really changed my perspective on life. It showed me I could share great experiences with my friends without the use of drugs like mar uana. It was a totally new experience.”

Ela points out that the trip to India will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young people to meet some of the wisest people on the planet. “Being in the collective environment of praying and meditating with thousands of monks is deeply nourishing for the young, growing soul. They need to experience rst hand the depths of human nature. Only then can they tap into their own strength and wisdom so they can be a responsible participants in our global culture."
