Bio:

Topics: Laurie Stankavich

Associate Professor, English Department

Laurie Stankavich graduated with her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Andrews University in Michigan and served as a student missionary in Taiwan. She earned her master’s degree in linguistics from the University of Texas at Arlington, then went to Sichuan, China, to teach English at a technical university. Later, she worked at the Universidad Adventista de Centroamerica in Costa Rica and then returned to Taiwan to help develop an international secondary school in Taipei. After returning to the United States, Stankavich spent three years teaching English and Spanish at Union Springs Academy in upstate New York. She joined Southern’s faculty in 2010.
