Lot 801 Great Britain, Celtic gold Stater of the Ambiani tribe $500-$700 EF Celtic gold stater of the Ambiani tribe, Northern Gaul & Southern Britain, c.50 BC; blank obverse, disjointed curved horse, pellet below, zigzag in exergue (S.11), EF, almost centred as usual, rare.

Lot 802 Kushan, Stater $300-$400

VF Early 5th century Kidderites gold stater, standing Kushan King with symbol for Kidara below right, reverse, enthroned goddess (M.3696).

Lot 803 Roman Imperial Coins, Denarius, c125AD $80-$100

VF Denarius of Hadrian, c.125AD Rome, reverse Pudicitas in attitude of sadness left, VF, scarce. Lot 804 Byzantine Empire, Gold solidus of Heraclius $2000-$2500

F - gVF Gold solidus of Heraclius (610-40 AD), barbarous style, struck in Carthage after the execution of Phocas in mid 610 AD. The reign of terror of the tyrant Emperor was ended in an open revolt led by Heraclius, the local Military commander, who was elevated to Emperor on Oct 5th. By this time Heraclius' troops had occupied Egypt & Cyprus; Constantinople fell at the end of the year. Equal sized busts of Heraclius & Heraclius the Younger, both bare-headed, with cross between, reverse cross on steps, CONOB (Constantinople mint) Officina letter 'theta' (S.710, MIB.134.1, DO.210.3). Early coins from the Rebellion are rare.
