VF Letter of authorisation requesting the export of Fijian banknotes of the time from Colony of Fiji, ‘The Defense (Finance) Regulations 1939, addressed to Jack Sutherland, brother of prominent Australian Numismatist Alan Sutherland. With accompanying letter from Jack highlighting the difficulties he faced in finding his brother some local banknote specimens, potentially the group of 8 Fijian notes listed in this sale, interesting lot.

Lot 102 Aussies Surrender Pamphlet $300-$500 Fine 1940 Battle of Tobruk pamphlet dropped by the Nazis, interesting ‘AUSSIES’ to surrender or face dive bombers sinking their transport ships, stained & worn but important piece of Australian North African Campaign history.
