2012 River Cruising Guide
Welcome River cruising is one of the fastest growing sectors of the cruise industry - and why wouldn’t it be? It’s a fabulously relaxing way to explore the world, meandering in comfort along waterways which have been key highways for commerce for thousands of years. Fascinating castles, intriguing villages, local culture and of course delightful cuisine can all be discovered at each port, and after encountering the locals each day travellers are able to head back to their comfortable staterooms for a great night’s rest - without any packing or unpacking - ready to do it all again the next day. River cruising is growing across the globe, with the burgeoning number of destinations on offer including Europe (both western and eastern), Egypt, China, Asia, South America and even Australia. This guide has been produced in response to requests from Cruise Weekly readers for a simple reference which allows them to compare and contrast the offerings of river cruise companies selling their products in the Australasian market. Different cruise companies have chosen to contribute varying amounts of information to the guide, but we have attempted to include as much information as possible about each operator depending on the available space.
