Tryp to London

English corner Trip to London

YES!!! We did it!!! Last March a group of 48 students from 4o ESO went on a school trip to Wimbledon-London accompanied by their teachers Mariem, María Teresa and Liana. We were very lucky to be able to go on this long-awaited trip before Covid-19 turned everyone's world upside down! Although we didn't know much about this pandemic then, we followed all the hygenic measures to the most and we all used and carried our hand sanitizers in our pockets. Our trip was just for a week but we managed to visit the most important landmarks in this bustling city where our students could feel the multicultural diversity and had an amazing experience. It was very gratiying for us to see how they enjoyed and learnt about life in England , from visiting museums and art galleries...; from the adventure of taking the underground, trams and buses; sharing their lives with their host families; practising their English not only on the school but also on the streets; bargaining at Candem Town; going up to stand on Greenwich Meridian after walking through a tunnel under the Thames.......... well we'd rather let them speak out about THEIR TRIP!!

I have never experienced anything like my London trip before. I was so excited to get there and meeting my host family, as well as speaking English in order to go to the groceries or ask for some help. Every place we visited seemed to be magical and it took me to the “Old London” times.

I really enjoyed walking through streets we did not know before holding my friends hands, laughing and enjoying every moment we spent there.

In conclusion, I would love to comeback and visit even more places.

I had not been in England before this experience, but anyway I think it has been the best way to visit this incredible country.

We stayed in a native family house and they were so good and funny people, they treated me so well and they were very understanding when I wanted to chill out with some friends, but being responsible!

The teachers and the company planned the trip so well that we had enough time to enjoy as much as possible our short stay in England. We visited a lot of cool places and also had some free time to enjoy on our own.

We also learnt a lot of new vocabulary talking with the family.

It was the best way to visit this place and I will repeat it thousands of times!

Last March, we had the opportunity to travel to London, which is one of the most exciting cities in the world. Our trip was quite short, only for one week, but I’m sure that it was one of the best experience of our lives.

From my point of view, one place that is a must for tourists is Camden town, where there are loads of shops. All the shops are so different from each other that you won’t find two equal. It’s geared towards everyone but mostly for teenagers. You can also find real bargains there.

In addition, Big Ben and the London Eye shouldn’t be missed. Both of them are the most popular tourists attractions in London. They offer a unique experience.

The weather in London was amazing. Here in Murcia it is always sunny and hot. There, in London when you are walking you can feel the fresh air and it's even relaxing but the only negative thing about this was the rain, it was always raining and raining.

The trip to London was a great adventure, since we all enjoyed a lot regardless the bad rainy days, I think that the food is better in Spain because in London there is a lot of precooked food. We bought our packed lunch in a supermarket called Morrisons every day . We spent the mornings together visiting London's landmarks. In the afternoons, we studied English in an academy and apart from learning we laughed a lot. At night, we went out with our friends in London. The most fun experience was riding a tram and seeing how someone stood outside because the doors were closed. We enjoyed talking and laughing a lot. Most of the families were great and they prepared good suppers to us , especially their typical English breakfasts !! I hope I can go back sometime. ( Carlota 4C and Pilar 4 B )

I was lucky enough to have visited London, which is one of the most famous cities in the world. There are loads of popular tourist attractions in London that are worth visiting.

One place that is a must for tourists is South Bank of the Thames. You can see two world-famous tourist attractions there: the Big Ben and the London Eye. The views from the big wheel are so breathtaking that is worth waiting in the queue.

The second place that shouldn't be missed is Camden Town, which is a long street full of shops geared towards everyone interested in alternative clothes. There's such a lively atmosphere that it's fun just to wander around. If you need to buy souvenirs this is the perfect place to do it, you can find great bargains here.

South Bank of the Thames and Camden Town are a must! They offer a taste of life in the city, and breathtaking sceneries.

Last March we had the chance to go on a trip to London, which is a world-famous tourist attraction, where you can visit lots of museums and see breathtaking sceneries. It is a popular destination for both, young and old people. There are many places to visit, such as: Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, the British museum... But, I am going to write about London Eye, which is my favourite tourist destination. It's a must to see the views from the London Eye. The Big Ben is very close, so you will definitely see it. And there’s such a lively atmosphere that it is a pleasure to just wander around. Another place you can’t miss is Camden Town, where you can find great bargains and have fun. This is a unique location and a cool place to hang out, because there is a variety of shops of different styles. Although,it is better to go during the day ,because at night it could be dangerous. In my opinion, it is a must to visit these places if you go to London. They offer a taste of life in the city, and they are very entertaining.

What really caught my attention in London was that most people use public transport to get around and I liked that because it doesn't contaminate as much as if everyone drove their cars. And most of the time you travel with your friends so we all had a fun ride!!

As far as our trip to London is concerned, here are some interesting facts that we’d like to share with you in case in a future you decide to travel to London either by your own or with your high school.

One place that is a must for teenagers is Camden Town. There are so many creative and colorful buildings that they will make you fall in love with them. You can find many bargains there and you can wander around in a nice atmosphere while seeing all kinds of stuff. It's also a nice place to buy souvenirs for your friends or family, especially, If you're on a tight budget.

The second place that shouldn't be missed is the British Museum. It has such a huge collection of items from different cultures that If you get bored easily, trust me, you definitely won't get bored there!

Concerning the family, we spent a lovely time together. The family was absolutely amazing and they were so caring and loving that we enjoyed our stay in their house very much. Apart from that, we saw many interesting things and we learned a lot about the British culture. We attended lessons from Monday to Friday for two hours in the afternoons. It was a really productive and intense week!
