Hrithik turns director!

Hrithik Roshan has been in the Hindi film industry for more than two decades now and has cemented his standing with films like Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, Dhoom 2, Jodha Akbar and War. And now the buzz is that the actor has turned director, not for a film but for an advertising commercial. As per a report, the good looking actor has gone behind the camera to shoot an ad for a premium menswear brand that he endorses. The ad film also celebrates 25 years of Hrithik Roshan in the business. In an interview, Siddharth Anand, director of Hrithik’s films like Bang Bang, War and Fighter, had said that Hrithik doesn’t look at himself alone in a movie. He is a closet filmmaker but doesn’t know it himself. Siddharth also said that he keeps telling him he should direct a film soon. Hrithik will soon be seen in Fighter where he has teamed up with Siddharth Anand again after War. The film also stars Anil Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in the lead. The film will be released in January next year.

In a conversation with a news portal, when Sunny was asked if she had a similar experience, she said, “No, not at all. I worked with the best people. I have no horror stories. I read through every contract and corrected every single contract, so was gaining something from it. I was in control of every single thing that I was doing. I saw it as a business. I saw it as a means to get to something else. It wasn’t free for all in my world. Everybody’s experiences are different, mine was totally different.” After more than a decade in the Hindi film industry,Sunny’s hard work and dedication finally paid off when she landed a significant role in Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy.The movie recently premiered at the esteemed 75th Cannes Film Festival, receiving widespread acclaim and a seven-minute standing ovation.

Actress Zareen Khan who made her debut in Veer said that comparisons with Katrina Kaif backfired on her career as the film industry didn’t give her a chance to prove her individuality. A fan asked Zareen on social media platform, “People compared you a lot with Katrina Kaif in your early days in Bollywood. How did it make you feel and did it have any impact on your career?” To which the Housefull 2 actress replied, “So when I entered this industry, I was literally like a lost child, since I don’t come from a filmy background. So it made me feel really happy being compared to Katrina as I was her fan too, and found her really pretty. But it backfired on my career as the people of this industry didn’t give me a chance to prove my individuality.” Zareen was last seen in Hate Story 3, Telugu film Chanakya and Punjabi film Jatt.

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia says being a part of an ensemble is empowering and she doesn’t feel insecure in a multi-star cast.Talking about younger generation avoiding ensemble,the Himmatwalaactress said, “I think change is individual,I remember when Baahubalihappened, my first successful Telugu film Happy Days happened, then I did a recent show titled Jee Karda,I’ve always been a part of ensemble films and I have never shied away from that because I think there is power when great bunch of creative people come together and I think I have always been a very secure actor.” She went on to add, “I can say for myself that in fact when you are with these great stalwarts from the industry, your best comes out, because you know you can’t do anything else but to bring your A game.”

Haven’t taken shortcuts to shine : Vaani

Actress Vaani Kapoor, who is known for films like War, Befikre, Shuddh Desi Romance and others, is all set to make her debut on OTT with Mandala Murders and has to tap into her knowledge bank as an actor. The Shamshera actress said, “I was looking for something really clutter-breaking for my foray into OTT. I’m thrilled to be working with a mind like Gopi Puthran for Mandala Murders, a gritty crime thriller series that has pushed me to work my hardest in genre I’ve never attempted before.” Although the show has challenged the actor in her, she is taking it upon herself to rise above those challenges. “I have always been an actor who has never taken any shortcuts to shine when it comes to my craft because I respect the art of filmmaking and the purity that one needs to have towards acting. Mandala Murders has truly pushed me as an actor to deliver a performance while working on a film, on a set. She says that she likes learning different methods while working with different directors. As Janhvi teamed up with the Chhichhore director for the first time, she said, “The kind of an actor that I am and I want to be… I like the thrill of following my director’s lead for each film. So, the director can be demanding or can expect my emotional and physical investment… I will just go with him/ her on that journey.” She further adds, “I like to follow my director and learn more about myself in the process and also the craft. As an artiste you can pick up different things in different processes and it in a way, I think, makes each performance more different.” Earlier, talking about working on her latest flick, Janhvi had said, “One doesn’t have to struggle and take pressure to guarantee results. Sometimes you can just enjoy the process, believe in what you are doing and follow your director’s lead and the results can be equally special.”
