Foursquare Gelbvieh Bull Sale

Welcome to the Foursquare Gelbvieh 5th Annual Bull Sale. We are a fourth generation family farm that up until 1997 was primarily a dairy farm. In 1996 Dad started a commercial beef herd and in 1997 sold our dairy and began to focus his efforts on our beef herd. After experiencing what Gelbvieh cattle did for us, we embarked on building our own purebred herd. We are very impressed with the calving ease, aggressiveness of the newborn calves, superior maternal strengths (especially in heifers), and exceptional weaning weights. We have been raising purebred Gelbvieh for 12 years now, and are very excited for the future of the breed and the industry. Two years ago Kim and I bought out my parents herd, and we are excited with the challenge to take our herd to the next level. We implement a strict culling program and choose some of the very best genetics we can find through AI and working herd sires. Our focus in developing our herd starts with the Females; strong udders, sound feet and legs, and productivity through thick butted, deep bodied animals without sacrificing calving ease. Temperament is also an issue with us; you will find our cattle quiet and easy to work with. We have raised bulls for 11 years. Last year we were excited to hold our 4th annual sale at the Olds cow palace, and thanks to our valued customers, it was a success. This past year has seen its challenges for a lot of us with the cool wet spring, but praise the Lord, we were blessed with a great summer and long dry fall. Finally, there seems to be some optimism in the cattle markets, with excellent prices for calves and replacement cattle. It looks to me like there should be some prosperous years ahead in the cattle industry. On offer are an exceptional group of yearling bulls that have been bred and fed to meet your demands of this industry. The yearling bulls have been fed a high fiber, high roughage, no starch total mixed ration of hay, silage and soy hull pellets. We feel we have an outstanding pen of bulls for sale this year. They are very uniform, stout made, and a well developed group of potential herd sires. We know that the demands on the beef industry are high. There is an increasing need for easy fleshing, efficient cattle that demand less from you. As well we see the importance and value in replacement females and are very confident in the maternal strength of each of these bulls. Now is the time to invest in a high performance Gelbvieh bull that will add to your herd’s bottom line. Whether you need maternal strength, calving ease or performance, we are confident that your herd sire needs can be met within this bull offering. You are invited to join us on Saturday, March 10th prior to the sale for beef on a bun with all the fixings at 12 noon. We are looking forward to seeing you on sale day and if you have any questions please feel free to give us a call any time. Visitors are always welcome to view bulls at the farm. Thank you for being a part of our sale. From our family to yours, Roger & Kim Sayer H: 403-337-5847 C: 403-875-8418 .
