THE LEADING FRATERNITY EXPERIENCE - Letter from the Chief Executive Officer

THE LEADING FRATERNITY EXPERIENCE

WHEN ANDREW, HARRY AND SIMON GATHERED at 90 Broad Street in Charleston on December 10, 1904, for the first meeting of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, their great vision came to life. One hundred and eighteen years later, we strive daily to keep that vision alive and to advance it with pride by delivering the leading fraternity experience for all members.

You may be asking yourself; how do you define the “leading fraternity experience?” The definition may differ from member to member as they experience fraternity on their campuses and in their alumni lives in many unique ways. As I travel from chapter to chapter and city to town, I consistently experience inspirational moments of brotherhood, service and leadership from our students, alumni and volunteers. These moments make up the fraternity experience.

The story of how the Fraternity, the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation, Pi Kappa Phi Properties and The Ability Experience endeavored to deliver the leading fraternity experience over the past year is told on the following pages. You’ll see the work of our chapters in the areas of growth, retention and fundraising in the chapter scorecard. You’ll read the names of Foundation donors who make it possible for the Foundation to support national and chapter-level educational programs, leadership conferences, scholarships and academic awards. You’ll see how Pi Kappa Phi Properties continues to support housing efforts around the country as a vital resource for students and alumni. And you’ll read how The Ability Experience, through the support of donors and friends, continues to serve people with disabilities for 45 years and counting.

These efforts represent our vision of a future where every Pi Kappa Phi embraces his role as a leader, puts service before self and improves the world around him. On page 16, you’ll see how we are laying the foundation for the future with the upcoming re-launch of our leadership consultant program, with 10 new staff members joining the team to support 10 chapter expansions confirmed for the 2023-24 academic year. And on page 52, you’ll be inspired by a story of brotherhood lost, then found, and made stronger by the power of connection – the essence of the fraternity experience.

As you read these stories, I encourage you to reflect on your fraternity journey and the inspirational moments that have shaped you as a leader and as a brother of Pi Kappa Phi. Your story is - and will continue to be - part of our leading fraternity experience.

In Pi Kappa Phi, Jake Henderson, Chief Executive Officer
