(Cont. From Page 12) CONSTITUTION and there’s a part that clearly states, “THERE SHALL BE NO DEBTOR’S PRISONS.” Now, unless I am mistaken, owing any kinds of monies is considered to be a debt. COMMISSIONER RICHARDSON, please look into this matter, because TO OWE is a DEBT, and it’s not CRIMINAL! Remember, our Traffic Court tried it, even put people in jail, only to be DECRIMINALIZED and they are no longer criminal; instead, they’re now C-I-V-I-L C-O-U-RT-S!

(Cont. From Page 12) to think only through embracing the internet can you maintain your legitimacy as a reporter, everyone who asks questions like the one Sen. Patterson is asking is perceived as a “hater”. I’m not hating. I just have a problem with people being misinformed on purpose. Don’t get me wrong. I like the internet. I have a blog myself. But it’s a blog on which I do some reporting, and that’s not something that most bloggers know how to do ... or even want to know how to do. However, he might want to take a Law and Ethics of Mass Communication class, because he seems to have overlooked the fact that the Constitution makes his bill illegal. Under the 1st Amendment, Congress ain’t allowed to make no laws constraining freedom of speech or freedom of the press. If Congress can’t do it, and they’re the Federal government, what makes you think that you can make reporters be licensed in your state, Sen. Patterson? In other words, no law

means just that, no law. I emphasize this because I know some Pennsylvania political will read this column and think, “That sounds like a good idea” and get a legislative aide on it right away. You can’t do it. It’s unconstitutional and the Pennsylvania Press Association will have you for dinner. But folks like Sen. Patterson can take heart. It’ll be interesting to see what they find out.
