DALILA ALI RAJAH

A powerhouse storyteller, Dalila Ali Rajah is a wonderful mixture of sandalwood, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. Whether she is lighting up the stage with her critically acclaimed acting skills or her mesmerizing dance moves, she is a joy to watch. She is a dynamic multi-hyphenate griot, actress, writer, producer, and founder of the Black Queer Joy movement. A well-known, lauded activist and content creator, she was selected as one of The Advocate’s Entertainers of the Year, and OUT’s OUT100. She cocreated the talk show Cherry Bomb!, which ran fine seasons on Canada’s OutTV, and her award-winning short film Secrets and Toys, which she wrote, produced, and stars in, has garnered over 4.7 million views on YouTube.

She’s toured the Tony Award-winning productions of The Trip to Bountiful with Cecily Tyson, Blair Underwood, and Vanessa Williams, and has appeared in such shows as 9-11, Grey’s Anatomy, and Criminal Minds Her storytelling is the Black AF queer AF witchy faerie love child of Under the Tuscan Sun, Practical Magic, and Lost Girl, raised by Scandal. Ali Rajah’s current projects shine a light on the places where her different labels intersect, as a Black, queer, bisexual, ambifidelitous, neurodivergent, witch, faerie, and mother of a trans child.

Ali Rajah holds a BA in Theatre from Spelman College and an MFA in Acting from California Institute of the Arts.
