rianna Eisert, 16, is a sophomore at Papillion-La Vista South High School and a Senior Girl Scout in Troop 45523. Brianna has gone above and beyond with her volunteer work for Completely KIDS, a nonprofit organization that helps underprivileged children learn life skills and values in a comfortable setting. In fact, Brianna created a Children’s Puppet Theater for Completely KIDS, which earned her the Girl Scouts’ highest and most prestigious achievement—the “Gold Award.”

With the help of family, friends, and advisors with Girls Scouts and Completely KIDS, Brianna brought the puppet theater project to life. After creating and designing the theater, she spread the word about the project by inviting her troop and some local Boy Scouts to help volunteer at Completely KIDS. She also searched for months online and in stores to find kid-friendly, durable puppets; and with the sponsorship of the community, friends, family, and fellow Scouts, Brianna was able to purchase 30 puppets to donate with the theater. Brianna even asked her friends to sponsor a puppet instead of giving her gifts for her 15th birthday. To complete the project, Brianna wrote scripts for the puppet theater. “The children are now able to act out plays with various scripts I wrote or use their creativity [to] create plays of their own,” she says. “The plays I wrote are about ‘life lessons’ and ‘heart lessons,’ such as the importance of sharing, not to bully other children, being kind to others, respecting authority, and many more.” When the project was finished, Brianna dedicated all of the puppets, the puppet theater, and the scripts to Completely KIDS. “[The kids] kept asking their coordinators if this actually was for them. It made my day to see all of them very excited about the puppet theater.
