What inspired you to start your practice?

I was inspired to start my practice once I became a mom. Building a start-up is sort of like becoming a new mom. You study and research hard in anticipation of it. Once it opens for business, you work hard day and night to nurture it. As the practice grows you can never be certain that you are doing things right. You can’t guarantee it will be successful, but you give it 100 percent because it’s your baby. Once the practice begins to mature and you see the impact it has on the community around you it’s the most gratifying thing in the world.

What do you love most about what you do?

We’ve built a culture here at MPDC that breaks the “scary dental office” stigma. Our patients are the Growing Smiles Club. This gives them pride and ownership of their oral health. I love what I do because oral health is such a major component of the overall development and wellness of a child. If I can teach families about prevention early, the result is a cavity-free beautiful, bright smile that will grow into adolescence and adulthood.

How do you juggle business with family demands?

I have found the only way to juggle being a business owner with family demands is to hire and build a quality staff. As moms we are hard-wired to “do it all.” In family and in business it takes a village. I strive to balance the stress with things I enjoy so that I can show up as my best authentic self for my family and my patients.

What sets your practice apart?

Montclair Pediatric Dental Care is the Premier Dental Home for Growing Smiles. This is our motto and reflects our brand identity. Children start off in our practice at a young age and grow up with us. We have a bright and clean office with lots of natural light and windows. We enable kids to feel safe and seen. Children all present with different personalities, ideas, and behaviors so we tailor their visit to reflect that. The office was designed to be calming and leave a positive lasting impression about dentistry for the growing child. I love STEM and art and believe that dentistry combines art and science so we use state-of-the-art equipment and create an artistic environment.

What are you best known for?

I am best known for my ability to connect with children. I am a board certified pediatric dentist. The advanced training I have received shows in my work and bedside manner. Our office is best known for being stylish and calming. Our team is best known for their stellar customer service and their commitment to excellence.

Proudest moment as a business owner?

My proudest moment as a business owner is when my 9-year-old son is proud of me. He is watching the office grow every year as he grows. Whenever I am honored with an award, perform volunteer work, or even recognized in town he is proud. Montclair Pediatric Dental Care is my practice, but it is a family business.
