A Place-Based Approach

Paterson was founded by Alexander Hamilton and is the birthplace of America’s Industrial Revolution. Like many other urban centers, Paterson today faces a host of challenges, ranging from high unemployment to a lack of affordable housing. NJCDC uses a place-based approach to address these and other complex problems, focusing on the social and physical environment of the Great Falls Neighborhood. Our approach targets the entire community and aims to address issues that exist in the neighborhood through our four core areas of work. By using a placebased approach, our objective is to build a healthy and sustainable neighborhood for current and future generations.
