TRAVEL TIPS

CURRENCY & EXCHANGE RATE

The currency used in Niagara Falls is the Canadian Dollar. While most businesses will accept American Dollars, you will get the best value by paying in Canadian currency. The rates for currency exchange vary and it’s recommended you have local currency on hand prior to arrival. If not, you can change your money for a fee at a bank, Currency Exchange Center or casino within the city once you arrive.

Entry Into Canada

International visitors to Canada require a valid passport and some may require a visa. Visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to Canada by air, will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), valid for up to five years. Exemptions from an eTA include U.S. citizens and travellers with a valid visa.

For further information about documentation required, eTA details and border procedures please visit the Canada Border Services Agency’s website (www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca).

Niagara Falls, like most of Canada, has four seasons that see fluctuations in temperature.

While these are seasonal averages, we recommend checking the daily forecast prior to arrival. Also, always be prepared to get wet, as even on the sunniest days mist from the Falls can blow your way.

Explore Niagara Falls comfortably and easily on WEGO - a state-of-the-art bus system that connects accommodations and tourist areas so you don’t have to worry about finding your way around. WEGO operates all year to service visitors no matter when they choose to visit Niagara.
