F3 - Fan Freak Fantastic Competition

En 2011 y 2012 los organizadores de BOGOSHORTS, Laboratorios Black Velvet, desarrollaron un evento enmarcado en el SOFA - Salón del Ocio y la Fantasía, que buscaba destacar la producción cinematográfica más original en los géneros de la fantasía, la ciencia ficción y el terror: F3 - Fanático Film Fest. En 2013, momento de la evolución del Bogotá Short Film Festival / Festival de Cortos de Bogotá - BOGOSHORTS, el monstruoso evento no se pudo continuar realizando. Sin embargo, la organización lo revivió en 2015 como una sección competitiva de BOGOSHORTS: F3 - Fanático Freak Fantástico.

Siguen siendo tres F, son otras palabras, pero el espíritu es el mismo: apostar por el cine que se arriesga a llevar al límite la imaginación. La selección de F3 en 2021 cuenta con una fuerte presencia de producciones iberoamericanas que van de la ciencia ficción al terror psicológico, representación asiática con piezas que llevan al límite el horror, y, por supuesto, producciones de alta factura de diferentes países europeos. Continuando con nuestro compromiso por fortalecer la industria audiovisual colombiana, y especialmente, a través de esta sección, el trabajo de realizadores interesados en el cine de género, desde 2021 los cortometrajes dirigidos por colombianos o de producción colombiana que son seleccionados en la Competencia F3, no solo participan por la Santa Lucía que se entrega en esta sección, sino también por los premios artísticos y técnicos de la Competencia Nacional. Este año, cinco cortometrajes colombianos tendrán esa oportunidad.

In 2011 and 2012 the organizers of BOGOSHORTS, Laboratorios Black Velvet, developed an event in the framework of SOFA - Entertainment and Fantasy Convention, which sought to highlight the most original film production in the genres of fantasy, science fiction and horror: F3 - Fan Film Fest. In 2013, the moment of the evolution towards the Bogotá Short Film Festival / Festival de Cortos de Bogotá - BOGOSHORTS, the monstrous event could not continue. However, the organization revived it in 2015 as a competitive section of BOGOSHORTS: F3 - Fan Freak Fantastic. They are still three F’s, they are other words, but the spirit is the same: to bet on cinema that risks pushing the imagination to the limit. The selection of F3 in 2021 has a strong presence of Ibero-American productions ranging from science fiction to psychological horror, Asian representation with pieces that take horror to the limit, and, of course, high quality productions from different European countries. Continuing with our commitment to strengthen the Colombian audiovisual industry, and especially, through this section, the work of filmmakers interested in genre cinema, since 2021 the short films directed by Colombians or of Colombian productions that are selected in the F3 Competition, not only participate for the Santa Lucía awarded in this section, but also for the artistic and technical awards of the National Competition. This year, five Colombian short films will have that opportunity.

In the 1980s, Bolivia is recovering from the military dictatorships that took over the country. Franco, a little boy, starts a friendship with the strange man his mother keeps locked up in their basement. Thinking that he is his father, he tries to free him, finding out truths that he cannot understand.

Marcelo Landaeta

Realizador aimara, seleccionado en numerosos encuentros, mercados y residencias cinematográficas en distintos países de Latinoamérica. Su obra, con amplio recorrido en circuitos internacionales, se compone por dos cortometrajes: ‘El hijo del difunto’ y ‘Nosotros: las bestias’ en donde desarrolla la temática de la dictadura militar en Bolivia. Actualmente se encuentra trabajando en su opera prima ‘Familia’. Aimara filmmaker, selected in numerous meetings, markets and film residencies in different Latin American countries. His work, which has been widely shown in international circuits, consists of two short films: ‘El hijo del difunto’ and ‘Nosotros: las bestias’ where he develops the theme of the military dictatorship in Bolivia. He is currently working on his debut film ‘Familia’.

El problema parece estar relacionado con las preguntas existenciales que Chris se ha estado haciendo: ¿Ha encontrado su verdadero amor? ¿Es quién quiere ser y está donde quiere estar? While his girlfriend is baking the cake for his surprise party, Chris gets a stomachache. He finds out there is a ticking time bomb in his belly, which he initially tries to conceal from his friends. But when Chris is about to explode, bomb expert Alim is rustled up to defuse the tension. The problem seems to be connected to the existential questions Chris has been asking himself: has he found his true love, is he who and where he wants to be?

Angelo Raaijmakers Graduado de la Escuela de Bellas Artes y Diseño en 2015. Su película de graduación ‘Sad Spirit’ se proyectó en varios festivales tanto en los Países Bajos como a nivel internacional. En 2020, realizó el cortometraje ‘When I Explode’, que fue seleccionado para el programa de desarrollo de talentos De Ontmoeting, y fue realizado en colaboración con Volya Films. Recientemente ha terminado su segundo cortometraje ‘I, Adonis’ con la productora PRPL. Graduate from the School of Fine Arts and Design in 2015. His graduation film ‘Sad Spirit’ was screened at several festivals both in the Netherlands and internationally. In 2020, he made the short film ‘When I Explode’ which was selected for the talent development program De Ontmoeting, and was made in collaboration with Volya Films. Frustrated, he decides to leave in the middle of the night to sleep outside. But between the anti-homeless furniture and the surveillance robots, sleeping has become a luxury. Director y escritor colombiano. Su ópera prima ‘Malos días’ se estrenó en la selección oficial del Festival Int. de Cine de Varsovia, Polonia. Su segundo largometraje, ‘Llanto maldito’, hace parte de la selección oficial de Sitges Festival Int. de Cine Fantástico de Catalunya en 2021. Ha dirigido las series de televisión ‘La ley secreta’, ‘Bolívar’, ‘Distrito salvaje’, ‘Ritmo salvaje’ y ‘MalaYerba’. En 2020 fue el ganador del premio India Catalina a Mejor Director por ‘Bolívar’. Colombian writer and director. His first feature film ‘Bad Days’ was premiered at the Warsaw Int. Film Festival. His second film ‘Tarumama’, is part of the official selection of the Sitges Film Festial 2021. Bogotá, Colombia, 1992. Director, guionista, editor, actor, AD y fotógrafo radicado en Argentina y México. Estudió la carrera de Dirección de Cine en la Universidad del Cine de Buenos Aires. Dirigió cortometrajes, videoclips, comerciales y piezas animadas que han sido exhibidos en importantes plataformas y festivales cómo el FICCI, donde estrenó su primer cortometraje, ‘Anoche’, en la competencia oficial. Actualmente está desarrollando su primer largometraje tanto de ficción como documental. Bogotá, Colombia, 1992. An illustrator travels to the countryside with her dog for inspiration, but she begins to be besieged by a strange entity that seems to be herself. Representations of the mind, guilt, fear, dreams and the reality of the individual open the question about different matters of the psyche.

Graduado como ingeniero de sonido y realizador audiovisual. Logra el primer puesto en la Competencia estudiantil AES Latinoamérica en la categoría medios audiovisuales con su tesis de grado. Ha escrito y dirigido varios proyectos: ‘Huellas’ (2017), premiado como mejor cortometraje en la categoría alumni del SAE Institute; ‘El viaje’ (2018), seleccionado en el Festival Villa del Cine, y ‘Reflejo’ (2021). Graduated as a Sound Engineer and Audiovisual Producer. He won first place in the AES Latin America Student Competition in the audiovisual media category with his undergraduate thesis. He has written and directed several projects: ‘Huellas’ (2017), awarded as Best Short Film in the SAE Institute Alumni category; ‘El viaje’ (2018), selected at the Villa del Cine Festival, and ‘Reflejo’ (2021).

Her approach to film and theatre-making is focused on the therapeutic aspect of art. ‘54/The Blind Turtle and the Endless Sea’ is her first short film.
