Incubadora BFM / BFM Incubator

Este año el espíritu de la Incubadora BFM es la colaboración. Este espacio nace como un encuentro de coproducción diseñado en torno a una jornada de encuentros uno a uno. Por un lado, participan productores audiovisuales que buscan financiación para hacer realidad sus proyectos de cortometraje. Estos proyectos pueden ser de ficción, documental, animación y experimental, y pueden estar en diferentes etapas (desarrollo, preproducción, rodaje, postproducción y distribución). Del otro, participan empresas y profesionales del sector audiovisual que prestan diferentes servicios cinematográficos, con el objetivo de cerrar posibles alianzas o coproducciones.

Este año la Incubadora, en su proceso de ampliar la posibilidad de gestar conexiones y posibles encuentros con otros lenguajes cinematográficos, otorgará un premio a un proyecto ganador seleccionado por los aliados, y recibirá un Fast track directo a la La Petite Fabrique, de Euro Connection 2023 en el marco del Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (Francia), con la posibilidad de asistencia de su director(a) o productor(a) gracias al apoyo del Festival, de BOGOSHORTS - Festival de Cortos de Bogotá y de la embajada de Francia en Colombia. Además, se premiará a otro proyecto ganador seleccionado por los aliados, el cual recibirá un Fast track directo a la selección de proyectos internacionales de Emergente! Cine Lab, Laboratorio de Desarrollo y Foro de Coproducción Internacional de Cortometrajes, organizado por AIC (Asociación de la Industria del Cortometraje) de Madrid, con la posibilidad de asistencia de su director(a) o productor(a).

Adicionalmente, la Incubadora abrió de nuevo la convocatoria para participantes de Iberoamérica, posibilitando los procesos de internacionalización para la consolidación, financiamiento y posterior circulación de los proyectos. Después de una sólida y fuerte convocatoria se recibieron alrededor de 100 proyectos de países como Perú, Bolivia, México, Chile, Cuba, Uruguay, entre otros. Los proyectos seleccionados de cortometraje se destacaron por su originalidad, pertinencia y solidez, y sus directores y productores ahora se están preparando para aprovechar al máximo los encuentros que tendrán durante el BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market. Como cada día, antes de que amanezca, Alba sube a su bicicleta y recorre con una sonrisa los desiertos caminos de la vereda que la separan de la escuela, sin embargo, esta tranquila realidad se disloca cuando dos hombres en una motocicleta abusan sexualmente de ella. A raíz del hecho, su casa se revela como un escenario hostil para Alba y Mercedes, su madre, pues Julio, patriarca de la familia, señala a la niña como culpable del hecho y las obliga a vivir como si nada hubiera pasado para mantener las apariencias en el pueblo. Like every day, before dawn, Alba gets on her bicycle and rides with a smile the deserted sidewalk roads that separate her from school, however, this quiet reality is dislocated when two men on a motorcycle sexually abuse her. As a result, their home is revealed as a hostile scenario for Alba and Mercedes, her mother, because Julio, the family patriarch, points to the girl as the culprit and forces them to live as if nothing had happened in order to keep up appearances in the village.

En una situación inesperada se ve obligada a dar a luz en una camioneta de paramilitares que rondan la región. Dicha camioneta es conocida porque quien se sube a ella no es vuelto a ver con vida. Mairen is an Afro-Colombian woman who is 8 months pregnant who has to go into labor in a deserted zone in a banana plantation. In an unexpected situation, she is forced to give birth in a van belonging to paramilitaries who are roaming the region. This van is known because whoever gets into it is never seen alive again.

Después de varias desventuras, Richi encuentra al desconocido solo para darse cuenta que perdió algo muy valioso. Richi, an irresponsible young man, receives a call from a stranger who claims to have his wallet, which triggers a quest to get it back. While living a modern odyssey to find the guy in the chaos of downtown Medellin, he relives the last conversation with his ex in which she broke up with him by giving him a handwritten letter, a letter that acquired an sentimental value for him and kept in his wallet until the day he threw it away. After several misadventures, Richi finds the stranger only to realize that he lost something very valuable.

Agustín, actor de 60 años, es abordado abruptamente por tres hombres en un taxi, cerca de la medianoche en la ciudad de Bogotá, en el año 2019. Al ser amenazado en su integridad física, toma consciente y fríamente la elección de desafiar el subconsciente de sus victimarios, buscando poner en evidencia manifestaciones de desconfianza entre ellos, o según su criterio, la idiotez del “sentirse poderoso”, lo que aumenta el riesgo de Agustín y de los agresores de perder. Agustin, a 60-year-old actor, is abruptly approached by three men in a cab, around midnight in the city of Bogota, in the year 2019. Being threatened in his physical integrity, he coldly makes a conscious choice to challenge the assaulters subsconscious, seeking to highlight dynamics of distrust between them or according to him, the absurdness of “feeling powerful”, which in turn increases his risk and the risk of his attackers.

Cuando ellas se fueron tan solo quedó un pequeño ruido en la montaña / When They Left There Was Only a Small Noise in the Mountain - (Colombia)

En medio de los andes nariñenses, la antigua fábrica textil del pueblo El Contadero yace en ruinas. Los recuerdos de Estela, una mujer que trabajó allí durante su juventud, rememoran los primeros años de la fábrica junto a sus compañeras así como su aprendizaje del tejido tradicional en guanga transmitido por su madre. Este documental revisita los vestigios del intento truncado de modernización así como la frágil supervivencia del tejido en guanga. In the middle of the Nariño Andes, the old textile factory of the village of El Contadero lies in ruins. The memories of Estela, a woman who worked there during her youth, recalls the early years of the factory with her companions as well as her apprenticeship in traditional guanga weaving passed down by her mother. This documentary revisits the vestiges that remain of this truncated attempt at modernization as well as the fragile survival of guanga weaving.

Las mujeres de mi edad es un documental autobiográfico a modo de viaje de autorreconocimiento. A partir de la experiencia vivida en un laboratorio audiovisual con mujeres mayores de 50 años que responden la pregunta: ¿Qué soñabas ser cuando eras adolescente y quién eres hoy realmente? Tere, una de las participantes, y Oveida, la directora, encontrarán un paralelo entre sus vidas que las hará reflexionar sobre el ser mujeres hoy y generar un cambio en ellas. The Women of My Age is an autobiographical documentary about a journey of self-recognition. Based on the experience lived in an audiovisual laboratory with women over 50 who answer the question: What did you dream of being when you were a teenager and who are you really today? Tere, one of the participants, and Oveida, the director, will find a parallel between their lives that will make them reflect on being women today and generate a change in the rest of the participants.

Alfredo Pushaina, pescador Wayú, tenía 18 años cuando fue desterrado de sus tierras ancestrales, hoy, 35 años después, el prometido progreso que traerá el carbón de El Cerrejón nunca llegó para las comunidades. Yoluja, ”el demonio”, como se refiere Alfredo al tren carbonero, viene cargado de espíritus malignos que se bajan y atormentan sus sueños, al punto de atraer sus vidas a las peligrosas vías del tren. Yoluja, es una inmersión sensorial y onírica del día a día de este pueblo, sus sueños, los viajes subacuáticos, la muerte y la presencia del tren que llega para nunca irse de sus vidas. Alfredo Pushaina, a Wayú fisherman, was 18 years old when he was banished from his ancestral lands. Today, 35 years later, the promised progress that El Cerrejón’s coal will bring never arrived for the communities. Yoluja, “the demon”, as Alfredo refers to the coal train, comes loaded with evil spirits that get off and haunt their dreams, to the point of luring their lives onto the dangerous train tracks. Yoluja, is a sensory and dreamlike immersion of the day to day life of this town, their dreams, underwater travel, death and the presence of the train that arrives never to leave their lives.

La naturaleza a su alrededor nace, crece y muere aceleradamente, pero su asombro acaba cuando reaparece su celular robado. Aferrado de nuevo a su dispositivo, El se vuelve viejo sin encontrarle sentido al juego; cuando decide abandonarlo, el Personaje misterioso reaparece para hacerle una revelación. El, a young man addicted to watching news on his cell phone pays little attention to what is going on around him. After his cell phone is stolen, El finds a helmet that takes him to a surreal world where he becomes El Internauta. In this world of fantastic nature, he meets a mysterious Character. The nature around him is born, grows and dies rapidly, but his astonishment ends when his stolen cell phone reappears. Clinging again to his device, he grows old without making sense of the game; when he decides to abandon it, the mysterious Character reappears to give him a revelation.

Allí, él recibe de la Pachamama el poder tucun para transformarse en un ser sobrenatural prehispánico que cuida y preserva los páramos y con ellos al planeta y la humanidad. Tuktu, father corn, is an animated short film that narrates the transformation of Juan, a peasant boy who, while trying to flee from war, accidentally falls into a sacred tomb. There, he receives the tucun from the Pachamama, giving him the power to transform himself into a pre-hispanic supernatural being who cares for and preserves the moors, and with them, the planet and humanity.
