Staff reports The Randolph-Macon women’s basketball team shot 52.6 percent from the field including an 11-for-23 mark from three en route to a 97-30 win over host Randolph last Tuesday in Lynchburg. Sophomore guard Jordan Cantrell led four Yellow Jacket players in double figures with a career high 26 points. R-MC Freshman center Lindsay Sharman opened up the scoring with a layup just 18 seconds in to ignite a 10-0 opening run which was capped by Taylor Wieczorek jumper. R-MC steadily built a 30 point advantage and freshman Paige Mills capped the half with a steal and an assist to Cantrell who hit a layup at the buzzer putting the Yellow Jackets up 42-10 at the break. R-MC opened the second half on a 12-3 run that started with a Sharman layup and finished off a jumper from Molly Brown. The Jackets continued to pull away and led by as many as 67 on the way to a 97-30 win. Every player on the R-MC roster scored as Cantrell went 9for-12 from the field including a 5-for-6 mark from three. Maggie Roy dropped in 14 points and four assists. Wieczorek finished with 12 points and seven boards while Brown chipped in with 10 points and four rebounds. R-MC held a 59-33 rebound-

More racing is what Richmond International Raceway fans wanted, and more racing is what they will get next season. RIR has added the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race in the spring to create a tripleheader weekend beginning Thursday, April 28, 2011. It will be the first NASCAR Tripleheader Weekend in Richmond since 2005. The NASCAR K&N Pro Series features separate schedules and championships for the East and West, and makes up the top step of the NASCAR Home Tracks ladder—a launching pad for developmental drivers and home for veterans of motorsports. In addition to producing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Joey Logano, Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series has served as the starting point for some of the top up-and-coming talent now in NASCAR’s three national series, including Austin Dillon, Trevor Bayne, Brian Ickler, Ricky Carmichael and Ryan Truex. “We are excited to bring

Parker hopes to one day return to coaching but currently he plans to enroll in a program at VCU to complete his Masters in Education.

Former University of Richmond wide receiver Danny Desriveaux is in his fourth year with Montreal and averaged 11.3 yards with four receptions this season. VMI wide receiver Tim Maypray is also in his first year with Montreal. On the opposite of the field, Saskatchewan rookie wide receiver Cary Koch made an impressive debut in his first year out of the University of Virginia. On the season, Koch had 21 catches for 299 yards and three TDs. Koch had four Grey Cup receptions including the longest of the game at 40 yards.

The Dynamo Soccer Club U18 Girls won their second tournament this season – the Hunt Country Classic in Fauquier County. The win on November 21, 2010 was based on a 3-2 score in penalty kicks after tying 0-0 in regulation and double overtimes. Submitted by Sandra Hillquist
