Another Close Encounter on the Crumb

With the game good to go, the students flew out the block through winger Charlie Cadogen, who ended up with 3 tries to his name for his sizzling efforts down the left wing. His two first half tries were complimented by a great finish from Jon Mason, giving them a deserved 2110 lead at the break. The second half saw the dynamic of the game turn on its head, relentless set piece pressure from Redruth saw them close the gap as the final stages approached. A well-taken maul hat-trick from their hooker Brown saw them gain the lead for the first time in the game, and with a yellow card to the students number 4, Finn Carnduff, the pressure told as Redruth crossed once more. The sides exchanged penalties in the final 5 minutes, before a last play strike from Redruth fly-half saw them take the spoils in an epic encounter.

Both sides would have been frustrated with anything but a win, and the students will seek an immediate reaction as they host Stourbridge next week before the Christmas break.
