some days I don’t get much work done as I am too busy acting like a kid myself and having a ball hanging out with awesome kids and playing with all of my cool stuff. What is your biggest inspiration? My three amazing sons are the reason I get up every day (usually way too early due to them waking me up!) and do what I do. They inspire me with all of the challenges they overcome, the struggles they get through and the goals they achieve despite their disabilities. I’m a super proud mum! How do your three lovely boys feel about their mum being a business tycoon? I don’t know about tycoon but they love what I do and are pretty chuffed at having the store named after them. They help me out with jobs like checking off stock and they did a fabulous job helping me to set up the shop. They are also my Chief Product Testers and all of my new things are tried and approved by them. I love that I am teaching them skills and setting a good example by working hard and letting them watch as the business is progressing. What’s next for SOK? Any big plans for the future? Hopefully things will keep growing and evolving as well as they are now and I can continue to source and bring awesome products to families. I am also looking at doing some Sensory Workshops for parents with my colleagues from The Bay Children’s Clinic where I am based which will be super fun. I hope to be able to eventually support more organisations like the RCH (look out for their donation box on my counter), Amaze and the ICAN Network and I am really enjoying seeing the progress of the All Abilities AusKick Group that I sponsor too. Watch this space for more exciting things to come! Where can we find you? Sensory Oasis for Kids is at: The Bay Children’s Clinic, 3/216 Blackshaws Road, Altona North www.sensoryoasisforkids.com.au
