Having recently unveiled a fresh new menu and revitalised dining space just in time for Magic Millions 2020 – Garden Kitchen & Bar is the quintessential Queensland dining experience. As part of The Star’s ‘This Summer! Live’ entertainment program, the venue will be activated all Carnival long, with live entertainment, al fresco dining and summer-inspired cocktails. But the thrill doesn’t stop there – Having recently transformed nearly every facet of the property, there is so much to see and experience at The Star. A Gold Coast icon of more than 30 years, The Star Gold Coast’s recent transformation unveiled a refreshed property arrival experience, luxurious poolside amenities and new day spa and fitness centre, along with 12 new or reimagined food and beverage offerings including multi-award-winning restaurants Kiyomi, Cucina Vivo, Imperial at The Star and Harvest Buffet.

The existing hotel The Star Grand has undergone a complete refurbishment of all of its 596 hotel rooms to reveal a world-class, 5-star accommodation offering. And of course, the luxury 56-suite hotel The Darling and its famed rooftop dining destination Nineteen at The Star is one of the must-do experiences on the Gold Coast. As major sponsor of The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions, 2020 will see the introduction of a range of new on-property events across the Carnival calendar, including the first charity poker event. To be held on Friday January 10, The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Charity Poker Tournament will see Magic Millions ambassadors and special guests, along with The Star’s ambassadors come together to raise funds for local charity The Gold Coast Community Fund. The inaugural event will give players the opportunity to play against a celebrity at each of the Tournament tables, with all funds raised going to a good cause. It comes as The Star recently unveiled its new state-of-theart poker room in timing with playing host to the first World Poker Tour (WPT) Australia tournament, which saw hundreds of international, interstate and local players flock to The Star across the 11-day event, with the total prize pool reaching more than $3 million. Adding another glamour filled and exciting event to the Carnival calendar, The Star Magic Millions Charity Poker Tournament is sure to be a fantastic spectacle. Also new in 2020, The Star will partner with Frizelle Sunshine Automotive to host the first ‘Women with Horsepower’ event. Delivered in partnership with Magic Millions, the ladiesonly VIP event will see a group of prominent women in the horse racing and media industries enjoy a half-day luxury vehicle drive and luncheon experience, starting and finishing at The Darling hotel at The Star Gold Coast. Adding an exciting female-focused event to the Magic Millions calendar, Women with Horsepower will see ladies take to the streets of the Gold Coast in style, stopping off at a mystery hinterland location for lunch catered by The Star’s own extraordinarily talented culinary team, and ending the day with cocktails at luxurious rooftop dining destination Nineteen at The Star. Offering a myriad of entertainment options from fine dining to casual restaurants and bars, world-class gaming, theatre shows and two luxury hotels, The Star is the entertainment centrepiece of the Gold Coast, and the only place to be when not at the track.

Expect an influx of white gloves and red leather jackets through the doors when world-class stage show The Michael Jackson History Show returns to the theatre this December. With three performances scheduled during prime holiday period, including a special New Year’s Eve show, and an open dancefloor available to all ticketholders, producers are expecting sell-out crowds and a fun, celebratory atmosphere. The long-running production, which has been touring the world since 2011, boasts a set list laden with MJ’s biggest hits from his solo career and his days with the Jackson 5, including Billie Jean, Thriller, Smooth Criminal, Black or White, Man in the Mirror, Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough, ABC and more.
