EDITOR'S LETTER
It's hard to believe we're here, in a brand new issue layout and a brand new era of London Runway! I talked about this at length in our last Editor's Letter, so if you missed it, remember that this page of Issue 82 is free to read online at issuu com
We get used to the way things are, and sometimes it feels painful to leave them behind But change can also be refreshing and invigorating It can be a way to kickstart creativity, to fire up your efforts, and to encourage greatness.
I hope you'll feel, as we do, that this is what we are going for with our new style.
Onwards and upwards, and I wanted to give you an idea of what we are looking at across 2023 Firstly, the events schedule! As you know by now, if you are a regular reader, there are a few events at London Runway that you can set your watch by.
Our plans continue as normal to run the Face of London Runway, with applications opening for the first time in April. This year we have a bit of a twist on the format - a new theme specifically for this year! It's a trial of a new way of doing the Face, and if successful, we'll hope to run themed categories each year from then on I think you're going to love it! Remember to sign up to our mailing list at londonrunway.co.uk or subscribe to our digital or print issues if you want to be notified when applications are open.
After the Face of London Runway, we'll be back for our weekend of fun with the London Runway Virtual Festival in August. Started during the pandemic but now a strong LR tradition, our Virtual Festival is our way to bring the magazine to life and beam it right into your bedroom We'll be offering live shoots as always and plenty more entertainment which you can tune into live any time during the weekend If you feel excited already, don't forget you can watch back the previous years' entertainment on our Instagram!
Now in its second year, our Lens of London Runway competition for photographers will be taking place starting in August. It was a great success this year and I'm so looking forward to sharing the winner's cover photoshoot with you - I've seen the moodboard and let me tell you, I am excited!
Finally, we'll conclude the year as we always do, by opening nominations for our London Runway Sustainability Awards. That will bring us full circle as the most recent winners were just announced in our last issue
It's going to be an amazing year - I can just feel it. And with our pages bursting with editorials, catwalk galleries, and all the latest big events, it's going to be a lot of fun every single month.
So, here's to the future. To making this year the best one we can be. To not only weathering changes, but turning them into the best thing ever to happen to us.
