he definition of a hero can be left up to one’s opinion. A hero can be found in an act of kindness or finishing a courageous feat or saving a life. VETMED is a place where heroes are found each and every day. Facts and History

The doctors and staff at the special referral and 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital are 100 percent dedicated to taking care of every patient that walks through their doors. On top of their medical expertise, their friendly smiles, kind words, and patient attitudes are sure to make every owner comfortable with entrusting their furry friends into their care. The hero responsible for starting VETMED is Dr. Arch Robertson. A selftaught veterinary ultrasound expert, Robertson became the first to start mobile ultrasound services around the valley. He did this for a decade before opening up VETMED in

1995. The facility has been a place where heroes thrive and miracles happen ever since. Personal Stories

It wasn’t long ago that I had my own personal experience with the VETMED heroes. One night while playing with our 9-month-old English bulldog, Thor), he jumped for a toy and landed with a thud. His slow movement getting up told us something was very wrong with his back left leg. Because it was after normal vet hours, my husband and I looked up emergency vet care near by. VETMED was at the top of the list. We rushed him over and they took him right in The next morning, our local veterinarian was informed of what happened and

she highly recommended the care that the doctors at VETMED would offer Thor. After talking with VETMED surgeon Dr. Stephanie Foote, we gave Thor a week in a splint to see how he would progress. A week later, Foote assessed his leg again only to find that surgery was going to be necessary. She called before he went in and after he came out of anesthesia. Her care for him, I believe, would be hard to find anywhere else. Now in his recovery, we look forward to seeing our
