Piedmont Park Dog of the Year Contest

Earlier this summer, 12 dogs competed for the title of Piedmont Park Dog of the Year. Being rated for behavior, charisma and friendliness, the pups needed to sit, walk, play, and had 30 open seconds to win over the judges. Ponce, a 2-year-old Doberman from Midtown, was announced the winner. #PawsAtPiedmont

Cotton Flannel Shirts - One of the biggest

myths of flannel shirts is that they always

have to be a plaid pattern. Not true! Try a rare white flannel sport shirt and make it yours.

Ring Jacket Blouson - The journey these garments make from Osaka, Japan, to Midtown is a long one, but we know it is worth the trip. This hip length, button front blouson from our friends at Ring Jacket is a go-to for weekend wear. It pairs perfectly with denim and suede shoes for the crisp fall air while running around town, walking in the park or at your favorite bar.

Hamilton Dress Shirts - Hamilton dress shirts have been made in

Houston, Texas, since 1883. From solids to discreet patterns, these shirts are beautifully made with mother-of-pearl buttons and an elegant spread collar.

Alden Suede Shoes - The comforting look of a suede shoe has become a year-round style to many but we appreciate it most when the seasons change from summer to fall. The top of the class in American-made shoes, Alden has many styles of suede to choose from: loafers to lace ups. Don’t restrict them to just your casual looks, step out a bit from the norm and you’ll find the compliments will soon follow.

H. Stockton Sport Coat - It’s hard to pick just one sport coat out of all the great choices but this one in particular strikes us. It is made from a super fine wool that isn’t too heavy nor too light. That makes this coat a great choice for fall/winter in the South, or for traveling. The color palette is the difference-maker here. We kept it dark and muted with a subtle windowpane to differentiate it from warm weather coats because being sartorial is all about knowing your seasons, too.

bbey Glass is a talented Atlanta designer with a penchant for beautiful fabric and lines that are modern yet approachable. Abbey, who grew up in Ansley Park, was introduced to her

grandmother’s 1940’s Singer sewing machine at the age of 9. The middle child of two accomplished doctors, left brain always came before right, but Abbey continued to experiment with garment construction and design in her time. After endorsement by Jane Fonda’s GCAPP foundation and encouragement from her art teachers, the Atlanta designer began her formal fashion education at Central Saint Martin’s at 18. Before graduating from Rhode Island School of Design, with a degree in Apparel Design, Abbey had the opportunity to work under Marc Jacobs and Francisco Costa at Calvin Klein Collection. She was a finalist in the Supima Design Competition runway show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in September 2012, which kick-started her career. Abbey and her team work out of a Buckhead studio complete with a full-service atelier and boutique-style showroom. She launched the airy Ponce City Market boutique earlier this year and we welcome her with open arms! Here are a few of our favorite pieces from her fall lookbook. We sat down with Abbey at PCM for a chat and she offered you, our readers a little gift. Shop this month or next at either the PCM boutique or Buckhead studio and land 10% off for Midtown Lifestyle readers. Thank you, Abbey!

ML: WHY PCM? AG: We love PCM for its community of retailers and its creative energy. There is such a variety of

shoppers that are looking for something unique and fun. ML: WHAT MAKES THESE SHOPPERS UNIQUE AND HOW DO YOUR DESIGNS QUENCH THEIR FASHION THIRST? AG: Ponce shoppers have a lightheartedness about them, they are discovering small brands, eating

local food, supporting their city. PCM shoppers want to feel like they are buying something special, not something you can find just anywhere. We offer a selection of unique designer clothing, jewelry, and handbags that you can only get in select stores across the country. ML: WHAT ARE YOUR PCM STAFFERS' FAVORITE SPOTS TO SNACK, EAT AND DRINK IN PCM OR AROUND MIDTOWN/VAHI/WEST MIDTOWN? AG: We eat and drink a LOT in this neighborhood! Favorite PCM spots are El Super Pan for a quick

Cuban sandwich, Bellina for charcuterie and a glass of vino, Amer or 8Arm for a great cocktail, or Beetlecat for a moqueca stew. ML: WHAT WERE THE INSPIRATIONS FOR THE FALL LINE? AG: The fall collection is inspired by Marie Antoinette and a modern vision of her life at Versailles.

It's rich and dark with whimsical details and regal fabrics. More at Abbey-Glass.com CONTINUED >
