Then join our 2.5 hour session that will help you learn how to do the most common types of transactions and enable you to navigate it like a pro. This class will cover some of the basic skills needed in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Features covered include setting up letters and labels in Word, spreadsheets with simple formulas in Excel, and slideshows with text and graphics in PowerPoint. Course fee includes a reference manual for each application. Prerequisite: Basic understanding of the Windows operating system.

Job Training Illinois Food Service Certification

This 16–hour course studies sanitation in relation to food preparation and service and is designed for those new to the food service industry wanting to earn the Illinois Food Service Managers Certification for the first time. Topics will include the introduction to food safety, cross contamination, personal hygiene, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and other topics detailed in the flow of food. This interactive course also includes practice exercises for participants to apply the training material. Participants will prepare for and take the national certification exam in this course. Required textbook will be loaned to participants to prepare for the course and must be returned upon completion. Participants must contact Corporate and Community Learning at (618) 468–5701 no earlier than one week prior to the start date of the course to arrange for textbook pick up. BASSET Training

The Beverage Alcohol Sellers and Servers Education and Training (BASSET) course is a tool for those who sell or serve alcoholic beverages. The goal of this course is to train servers to serve responsibly; it does not prepare individuals to be bartenders. Protect your liquor license and reduce your risk as an alcohol server by learning alcohol law and your responsibility, how to recognize and prevent intoxication, properly check identification, handle difficult situations and evaluate real–world scenarios. BASSET is certified by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission. Participants who successfully complete the exam at the end of this course will receive a BASSET card valid for three years.
