Hot Fun in the Summer Time! By: Teresa Bruchon Liberty's July Celebration: The town of Liberty celebrates freedom and liberty in a big way! To get the best bang for our buck, Liberty holds it's celebration the weekend after July 4th. The new starting time of 3pm seemed to work well for most everyone. The patriotic kid's parade that kicked things off was fun for both the kids and spectators. Old fashioned games and contests provided wholesome family fun. The music set the mood for dancing in the streets. Having two stages gave a continuous flow of music from the Castaways, the Royal Harmonizers, RPM band, Southern Storm and Keith Bartell. The activities, music and festivities were all concentrated closer to the highlight of the evening; the FIREWORKS! What a show it was! Red, white and blue bursting in air gave proof through the night that Liberty has the best fireworks in the area! THANK YOU to the Business Sponsors! The Town of Liberty, the Liberty Chamber of Commerce and The Liberty Redevelopment Committee worked hard to organize the festival this year. We realize that there is still room for improvement. We will gladly consider your suggestions or corrective criticism for future events via website contact us at www.celebrateliberty.org See page 2 for some highlights

I could not but stop by as I saw a kid and her street side lemonade stand in Liberty. This is thing you normally on see in old movies now. It was something you think of days gone by. Morgan Heilig along her mom Amy keeping a close watch on her daughter. Morgan is the daughter of Mark and Amy Heilig of the area. This young lady asked me as I approached, “Would you care for a glass of lemonade or sweet tea ( a true southern delight).” I graciously said yes and how much. She replied with a big ole smile, “Nothing sir its free but if you would like to give a tip, I am taking all the tip money and giving it to my church. We are building a new church building and I will give them the money. Its my part of helping out.” Wow is all I could think. I generously gave a donation. While most kids are sitting the air playing video games, this young lady was in the heat serving. I inquired and this church is Sandy Creek Baptist Church located across from NERMS. They are building a larger church to do Gods work. From this lady and others I know from the church, their fruits jump out as you watch them or carry on a conversation with them. God is doing a great there. Also the lemonade was awesome.
