S T U P D A T E S ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL SHELTER AQUATIC CENTER

On July 19, the Spalding County Board of Commissioners, parks and recreation leadership, advocates, and other stakeholders broke ground on the much-anticipated Spalding County Aquatic Center at the Lakes at Green Valley.

The Aquatic Center is scheduled to open in late-2023 and will feature an eight-lane competition pool as well as a smaller pool for therapy, classes, and programming.

Spalding County Animal Care and Control celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting on January 29 The new facility is 7,200-square feet and has 118 cages 38 for cats, 80 for dogs a significant increase from the previous location. It also has a visitation/playroom for dogs, a dedicated cat and kitten room, air-conditioned kennels, and a more family-friendly atmosphere for all 2 0 1 6 S P L O
