The Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) recently recognized Dr. Mary Elizabeth Davis, the Superintendent of Henry County Schools, for the 2020 GSSA President’s Award. This award is given to superintendents for outstanding leadership in their school systems and communities. Dr. Davis has worked with the Henry County Board of Education to focus its work around a set of core beliefs and commitments born out of a community-driven set of strategic priorities. The award recognizes Dr. Davis for other notable accomplishments including her leadership in establishing HCS teaching & learning standards, providing sound fiscal management, taking measures to ensure the safety and security of every student and staff member in the district, excelling in communication and community outreach, and for leading the district to achieve the largest CCRPI increase of any metro Atlanta school district in the 2019-2020 school year.
