WOMEN’S DIVISION

Since 1965, We aim to enable everyone to contribute to the advancement of the civic, business, and educational interests in the community. The Women’s Division motto is SERVE – support, engage, respect, volunteer and encourage. It is what we do each year, and will continue to grow upon and develop further this year.

Women’s Division programs include:

Women’s Division Luncheons 2nd Tuesday of the Month 11:45 am – 1:00 pm Blankenship Business Center The Women’s Division of the Grapevine Chamber has focuses on fostering the spirit of charitable giving and economic development among the women of the Grapevine area. This networking luncheon is a great opportunity to meet new people and get involved right away in our community.

Great Taste of Grapevine April Come hungry! This fundraising community event offers attendees entertainment while sampling food from area restaurants, promoting those businesses. Proceeds benefit the Women’s Division of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas Spirit and School Supplies programs. School Supply Distribution August School supplies are crucial to the success of all students. Without the basic necessities, students can feel lost and stigmatized among their peers. This leads to poor performance and eventually puts the student at risk of dropping out of school. Every student should start the year out right with all necessary school supplies. Since the inception of this program, tens of thousands of GCISD students have received new school supplies via funds raised by the Women’s Division. Each school year 1350+ students benefit from this initiative.

Elves on the Run 5K & Fun Run First Saturday in December Elves on the Run is a fun, family-friendly 5k full of holiday spirit held right here in Grapevine the first weekend in December. Runners are encouraged to dress up in their holiday costumes and bring their groups and schools out to participate! Costume Contests, Santa’s workshop with local businesses and vendors, and fun for kids of all ages await participants. Santa begins the race and meets all kids at the finish line handing out Kids 1 Mile fun run medals. The course is a timed, sanctioned race for the serious runner – but is also a great holiday event to share with friends and family. Christmas Spirit: December The Christmas Spirit Program partners with Grace to identify senior citizens, and members of the Grapevine community with a disability, who need help and support during the Holidays. Those identified are interviewed by the Women’s Division members and wish trees for Christmas are created. Individuals or companies are encouraged to select an ornament from the tree, shop for those items, and those gifts are then distributed to those in need along with other necessities before Christmas. This program was established in 1973 and is at the heart of the Women’s Division’s mission. Gifts are typically items of necessity and provide basic dignity to our neighbors in need. Thousands of gifts have been delivered to participants since this program’s inception.

Working with other area leaders and organizations, the goal for the staff and Board of the Grapevine Chamber is to provide relevant updates and notifications on current legislation or actions of our elected officials so that our businesses can let their voices be heard as a part of the process, rather than mere observers. 1963 S.
