noosh Shariat has been on the move most of his life. He left Iran as a teenager to attend a technical high school in Germany. After graduation, he moved to the United States where he worked in restaurants in Dallas, Louisville, Charlotte, and Indianapolis. But Shariat’s moving days are over. In November 2014, he opened the Anoosh Bistro at 4864 Brownsboro Road and the 56-year-old said Louisville is definitely his last stop.

“Even when I was working in Indianapolis, Louisville was where I wanted to be,” he explained. “My wife was here, my kids were here. I’m lucky to get another chance to do what I love in this city that has been so generous to me.” Shariat operated an eponymous restaurant, Shariat’s, on Brownsboro Road for 10 years. After it closed in 2003, he helped open two restaurants at Slugger Field — Browning’s Restaurant and Brewery and Park Place. Shariat’s latest establishment is in the former Henry’s Place. The new name was a way for him to let his former customers know he is back in town, but longtime patrons of the location won’t notice many changes menuwise.
