ave you ever connected the philosophy of design with the meaning of life?

he philosophy of design can be considered as one of the most important and critical philosophies in life. In order to create a successful living environment functionally and aesthetically, there should be a good philosophical thinking process behind it. The interior architectural spaces are some of those daily environments where people live in, deal with, and are directly affected by. So, it is obvious to say, if there is a good designed environment, there would be a good place for people to live in. “It’s that simple”.

herefore, a good design needs a good philosophical concept, and a good philosophical concept needs a deep analytical thinking of several inspirational design ideas in order to enhance the human life and makes it better.

ndeed, the philosophy of design is the true meaning of life.

his investigation will be conducted in Saudi Arabia, more specifically in Jeddah, which is one of the biggest cities in the country. Jeddah is a city that include a large number of different nationalities. It

is considered the most important western gate of the country that has a diverse population. The reason for choosing this city is to find solutions for those social issues which have been explained previously, and used them as a module for other similar situations.

I

n addition, the climate criteria in Jeddah plays an obvious role in

how people use the indoor space.

The sun’s direction, the hot weather and the high humidity that comes from the sea, have been analyzed in redesigning the interior spaces.

he main goal of the project is to Create a third place (men’s center) that addresses the Saudi’s society issues. the space can help enhance health, improve skills/knowledge and increase productivity

of its members who would establish their own business and who could support their society.

The spirit of the design was established from the basic Islamic piece of art (p). The ornament that combines the identity of the local courtyard and the philosophy of the oasis in order to create assemblage of spaces that can achieve the design goals.

ightings, colors and materials are three design components that should be selected carefully in order to achieve the

design objectives. For instance, the study’s findings show that combining the local warm color scheme with big white areas would support the concept behind the biophilic design and create a local natural environment.

Materials selection for interior designers is one of the most important tasks that creates the sense of a space. Therefore, in order to achieve identity, provide personal spaces, absorb noises and create healthy environmental spaces, the materials should be all eco-friendly and selected carefully.

Therefore it must be designed very well. It has many criteria that make it useful, efficient, and comfortable. Space is that designed place where people can find their privacy and identity, where people can contact and integrate with others, or where people can feel free.

The reason for choosing this building is the lack of having a Cof-

fee shop in the city that can achieve its need.

This is an educational Cafe that should not serve the public only, but the doctors, students and business men.

he strong relationship between a book and a cup of coffee inspired the designer to consider their natural components in order to address them in the project’s interior spaces.

The flow, the simplicity, and the flexibility of the coffee drop. All those previous elements inspired the

designer to create various spaces for different purposes and activates. These spaces simply transfer the visitors/ users from relax to productive experience. The experience that shows them the deep meaning of “The Coffee Drop” which makes difference. The drop that stimulates the thinking behavior and create grate ideas.

between indoor and outdoor spaces that would support the relaxation and social interaction. The coffee bean plays a strong inspiration.

These materials should match this color scheme which represents natural components. The brick, the stone, the concrete, the wood and the green natural elements are the materials that have been chosen in the project.

All these interior design elements have been chosen based on studies or at least have been inspired by them.

Providing spaces have the ability to fulfill KIVA’s social and collaborative roles through their goals services.

CADpad embraces and advances the university’s deeply rooted commitment to adaptive reuse by utilizing a parking structure at SCAD Atlanta to create an inspirational and sustainable community

that proposes an answer to the growing urban housing challenges cities are facing around the world.

An interdisciplinary group of SCAD students, faculty, and alumni worked for 10 months to design and develop SCADpad—from its architectural footprint to custom furniture to remote home control—to fit in the mere 135-square-feet of a standard parking space. The 1st team was our studio collaborating with SCAD Atlanta studio of Interior Design.

The task was to design two connected units (dry & wet) and create a small community in the parking deck.

he challenge was in several

stages. How can 8 by 8 unite fit

2 students with expectation of 2 3 visitors. Folding and combined furniture was an approach. So, deep searching and ideas developing were the most time about.

here are two different units, one is wet that has the bathroom, the dinning space and the kitchen; the second one is the dry that has the bed, the wardrobe and the study/work desk. Both are able to

be connected/attached to each other and create an outdoor space too.

furniture in order to save space. To expand the indoor spaces, these big windows play important roll.

his location is one of the oldest historical site in Makkah. The peak of the mountain there has a cave that where the prophet Muhammad (peace

be upon him) was revealed from his lord to spread Islam. The issue in this district and the path on the mountain that takes to the cave is neglected from the government.

Therefore, the mission is to study this area and redesign it by keeping the historical identity, but creating controlled entertainment spaces that can educate the visitors and keep the existing residents with better services.

Using different scales in different forms in the same place can give different perceptions. It is one of the tricky principles of deign that needs to be used carefully and accurately. The scale is that design term which has the power to control the whole design’s perception.

his project’s site is located between Makkah and Jeddah. They are the west gate for international

and local Muslim visitors of the country.

The mission was to create an entertainment heritage village that can be as a place where contained all Islamic heritages. The project should works as an expo and as recreation park where families can spend fun times with their kids. Entertainment, education, teaching, eating, playing and lastly shopping.
