Residents in Sabinillas who are suffering lack of security and property ocupations, are organising protests

Residents and property owners in the "Edifico El Mero" building in Sabinillas denounce the defenselessness they experience in the face of the situation they are suffering in their community, in which they tell us "there are more than 15 properties occupied by squatters who are making life difficult and insecure for them". The President of this community of owners, has confirmed to us that "currently, as we have reported to the authorities and to the Mayor of Manilva Mario Jiménez himself, there are 15 occupied homes belonging to an investment fund ( Global Merkol) based in Madrid, who have proved to be impossible to contact by any means so far".

The same sources tell us that "our concern is growing since yesterday two other occupations were attempted on private properties which, due to the alarm and the intervention of the security forces, were prevented". Presidents of other communities such as "Sabimar'' and "Edf. Centro" have also told us that "we are very concerned because in our buildings we are detecting occupation by squatters of the houses that are empty, and for this reason we have notified their owners to make them aware."

Another issue arising from these occupations "in the case of " El Mero" has been the intervention of the electric company due to the serious risk of fire that the 'hacking' of the electric meters has caused".

Faced with this situation, the Presidents of these communities are preparing a number of actions, including the placement of banners on their buildings to demand solutions, and a call for a demonstration outside the Town Hall.
