ollowing the frantic scramble for British citizens to register their wish to exercise their vote in the May local elections, a process that would have even the most rational of conspiracy theorists reaching for their tin foil hats. Anyway, what is done is done, and now we can take a breath and look at the contestants for election.

I have voted in every municipal election since 2003, and have been disappointed and let down by every party that has taken on the governmental role in Manilva, so now is the time to throw my support behind the exciting proposition of a newly minted Partido Popular, a party that has been unelectable in the past due to its former leadership.

By supporting the Partido Popular of Manilva, you are no longer supporting some political party, the well-paid jobs of its candidates, their friends, family and supporters. No! You are supporting a change from the mismanagement, dubious ethics, ongoing court cases, and lack of vision that Manilva has become known for. None of the main three parties that have jockeyed for control over the past 16 years can hold their heads up with pride, and claim that they have done anything for Manilva and its general public.

No! Supporting a rejuvenated Partido Popular of Manilva, with its finger on the pulse, and its approval by some of the main political heavyweights at local, provincial and regional level, is supporting a brighter future for our municipality and its people.
