TYAGARAH HALL UNDERSTANDING COMMUNITY PREFERENCES Council have resolved to undertake community consultation with a view to establishing a Section 355 Management Committee for the ongoing management of the Tyagarah Hall.

PUBLIC EXHIBITION First Stage Planning Proposal to Apply Environmental Zones (E Zones) to amend Byron Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2014 The first stage planning proposal to apply ‘landowner agreed’ E Zones and other LEP 2014 zones to approximately 60 properties is on public exhibition from 27 February to 29 March. All affected landowners included in this Planning Proposal have been notified in writing. A copy of the Planning Proposal is available on Council’s website at www.byron.nsw.gov.au/Public-Notice. COUNCIL NOTICE: FEDERAL DRIVE SLIP On 15 February 2019 Council closed Federal Drive for public and private safety after receipt of professional geotechnical advice about an existing landslide that had potential to collapse further. On 28 February 2019 Council awarded the contract for the remediation works to Piling and Civil Australia, who have commenced on site on 18 March 2019. There is a 4 to 6 week works program for these remediation works and the contractor is planning to keep one lane open to traffic, as much as possible. At times there may be a need for short duration full closures for movement of equipment and materials to the worksite. Further updates on the project will be on Council’s website and Facebook sites.
