The Liberals were overwhelmingly rejected by Victorian voters last weekend, and that follows on from a recent by-election flogging in the Lib’s safe blue-ribbon Sydney seat of Warringah. Will this landslide loss prompt some soul searching by those with darkened souls? Clearly the electorate wants climate change action. Thankfully the usual race baiting and fear mongering failed (it usually works). And to think broadcaster Alan Jones is on the nose too. What’s going on? Are we collectively becoming aware that psychopaths have been ruling since the beginning of time? Q Q Q Q

Australia’s oldest and least profitable satirical newspaper, The Bug, has relaunched online after an eleven-year-hiatus and it’s once again poking fun at the pompous, the powerful and the privileged from its tiny Billinudgel newsroom. Retired hacksub Don Gordon-Brown says he produces the online content ‘on an Amstrad CPC 464’ and he’s hoping to lose less money than when ‘The Bug was shocking the world as a more-or-less monthly print-media tabloid publication from 1989 to 2007.’ For more info visit www.thebugonline.com.au.

Council’s planning staff were given another serve during morning access at Council’s Thursday meeting last week. A report into rezoning potentials at the West Byron development site – which councillors asked for in an attempt to explore ways of limiting it – was summarily demolished by Dailan Pugh. If the report were adopted, a flabbergasted Pugh said there would be fewer koala habitat and environmental zones. Buffers were ignored and housing density would be increased, he said. Q Q Q Q

If a US president admits that he knows a journalist was killed by Saudi Arabian hitmen yet doesn’t want to do anything about it because of money, is there a risk he’ll be indicted as an accessory to murder? Asking for a friend. Q Q Q Q

A reminder that an SCU survey on locals’ experiences with Airbnb is still active – https://bit.ly/2RnPbHf. Organisers say the data will be analysed and shared with Council and the community at the beginning of next year. Q Q Q Q
