Property insider It’s a new year so Property Insider thought it would look at the new faces around the agencies. Leah Ashenhurst has taken on the role of property manager at Elders Bangalow. Leah has an extensive background in property management in the area, having worked for in the field since 2008. She has always been interested in rental properties and even on holidays will always look in real estate windows to see what is available. PI asked Leah what attracts to her to the role of property manager as for many it would seem a thankless task constantly dealing with complaints and problems but, being a problem solver by nature, that is exactly what she does like about the job. ‘I enjoy
matching the right tenant with the right house and making what is one of the most stressful times in a person’s life (moving) a little less stressful by being efficient, organised and able to fix problems before they become big problems.’ When Leah is not at work she takes full advantage of the lifestyle that living in this area offers. ‘I have lived in this area for 10 years and absolutely adore it. It is a great place to raise kids. I love the lifestyle and the fact that there is always something to do. I enjoy Brunswick Beach with my dog and two boys, going for early morning power walks around Mullumbimby, having coffee at Rock & Roll, eating Japanese food at Izakaya, and catching up with friends for swims in the Bruns river at high tide.’
Sally Green is one of the new faces you’ll see at REMAX Coastal when they open their new office in Byron Bay. She will be working supporting the principals of the agency Matt and Laine Towner. Sally will support Matt in sales and Laine in rentals. In this role, Sally is looking forward to ‘working in an environment that honours and respects the Byron Bay community and helps locals reach their real estate goals’. Sally has real estate in her blood. Born and raised in a prominent real estate family, Sally grew up in Grafton and spent most of her adolescent life on the Gold Coast before ultimately settling in Byron Bay. Sally has spent many years working with her parents and sisters in their four real estate agencies on the
Gold Coast, incorporating more than 1,500 properties. A true team player, Sally knows that success doesn’t come just from one person’s effort. These are just the qualities the Matt and Laine were looking for. Continuing with REMAX Coastal: the final location of their new office is still to be determined. Matt Towner says that they are continuing negotiations on a couple of different office spaces in Byron Bay, however, they are open for business via private consultation.
