The Parks and Recreation Board consists of 7 members, which includes 1 member of the Planning Board, 1 Town Council member and 5 Citizens. Meetings are held the 4th Monday of the second month of every quarter at 6:00pm at the Weddington Town Hall.
Meetings are held the 4th Monday of the first month of every quarter after the regularly scheduled Planning Board Meeting which begins at 7:00pm.
The governing body of the Town of Weddington is the Town Council, which has four members, and the Mayor. The Town is divided into four electoral districts, and each district is represented on the Council by one member. The qualified voters of the entire Town elect the members of the Council. To be eleigible for election to the Council and for service on the Council as a representative of the district, a person must reside in the district. All candidates for the Town Council of Weddington are to be elected to 4 year terms each while the Mayor is elected to a 2 year term of office.
