ALWAYS ACCESS THE FRONT ROW The Volvo Ocean Race is the World's longest professional sporting event and leading offshore sailing competition. As a Freelance Photographer and because of my relationship with sailing boats, I thought that it would be a nice chance to get involved in this adventure, shooting photos. So, it was time to try out the Camerapixo's Press Card. Artur and Anetta showed great support for my project and backed me up with everything needed in order to obtain from the Volvo Ocean Race organization, my accreditation as a Media Independent Photographer for the event. All media facilities were there for my use and I've met all kind of interesting people and great artists. PHILIP GUNKEL GERMANY Philip Gunkel is an international professional fine art photographer that specializes in architecture, commercial and landscape photography. He was born in 1986 in Berlin, Germany where he now lives and works. Philip graduated Photodesign in 2012 at the Lette-Verein, afterwards he started studying geological sciences at the Freie Universität and also began working as a freelance photographer in Berlin. Even though he mostly does digital photography, recently he started photography with analog middle and large format cameras, learned how to develop and print in black and white and still loves to use his Hasselblad 500C/M from time to time. His two main passions are to shoot modern and abstract architecture with a desire

to perfectionism and high quality that does justice and reveals the main thoughts of the architects. Philip feels highly determined to travel the most remote and rugged landscapes of mother earth and to capture the unique, utterly beauty of nature and it’s living beings. Philip is also known for his super wide angle panoramic images up to 360 degrees from majestic mountain landscapes to modern architecture interiors that result in super sharp high resolution prints. Recently he also got himself into time lapse cinematography and documentary filming. During leisure time he loves to create personal fine art series of landscapes, cityscapes, or abstracts that leaded into several exhibitions and retail book publications.

SARAH MARTINET FRANCE Sarah lives in France, in the south along the Mediterranean sea. She is 34 years old, married and mother of two adorable children. They are the ones who gave her the taste of photography. First for portraits, she just immediately wanted to learn to do other things. Sarah has started with architectural photography before she specialized in landscape photography and more exactly long exposures shots. She has been doing photography for 6 years now. As she gradually was learning her photography she got herself equipped with a nice range of lenses and bodies. First it was a hobby, today she is a professional photographer.

Sarah is a winner of the contest “Les Photographies de L’année 2014” in nature and environment category, and is very proud of this. In addition to landscapes She does a lot of weddings and newborn photography as a job. It’s part of her job much less known compared to landscape photography but she likes it too. But more than a passion and a profession, photography is all her life, this is her way of communicating and giving emotions. The best reward is to have positive opinions on her work, it gives morale and desire to move and progress further.

She likes to discover and explore, to be alone and listen to the silence or to the rain fall, to watch a sunset and feel the wind on her face. That’s why she likes to take photos of landscape, it is a way to refocus on herself and clear her mind, to forget all the worries of everyday. Sarah is very attracted by northern countries, by their fabulous landscapes and the special atmosphere prevailing there. The weather is always very important in Sarah’s landscape photographs. Typically, she will never take pictures when the sky is blue and the sun high in the sky. She always prefers cloudy atmospheres and flattering lights of sunset.

NUNO TRINDADE PORTUGAL “When I’m photographing, I’m somewhere else… This is passion! This is what Photography is about to me!” NUNO TRINDADE is a portuguese freelance photographer, born in Nampula (Mozambique), in 1973. With a huge passion for Photography and Cinema since he was a little boy, along with the passion for playing football, he decided, when he was 17, to abandon those affections and go to College, where he graduated in Management and Business Administration. Photography had to wait. In 2003, he was using a bridge (Sony F-828) and developing his technique, especially in nature & urban landscape. The year after, he gave wings to his passion, when he fulfilled the dream to travel around the world.

In 2008, when he bought his first full frame camera, a Nikon D700, he started to improve his technique through constant practise and studying other aspects of Photography. After many photo exhibitions, in 2011 he started to develop a project of photo expeditions, one of his dreams, along with travelling. Always as a freelance photographer. Many projects followed until now. In Photography, his dream would be to work for National Geographic around the world. He lives in Lisbon, Portugal.

URBAN FASCINATION

GORETTY GUTIERREZ SPAIN “An image can express more than a thousand words”. It’s hard to say things about yourself, it´s easier to express yourself with pictures than write your own biography. Goretty was born in Tenerife, Spain, in 1976, where she currently lives. She always liked photography but about four years ago it´s when it truly became her passion. Due to her career situation, in other words no situation because she didn’t have a job, Goretty started to seek the one thing that interested her the most in this world. Her formation as a photographer was practically self-taught. Even though she did a few photography courses, she was always lead by my emotions, her impulse and her way of seeing things. There are rules in photography, but more than just follow-

ing those rules you have to be able to transmit. Goretty works a lot with black and white images, using a lot of contrast because she believes there is a bit of magic in it, that color can´t express. Color does not attract our attention because it´s something that we see day to day, whereas black and white brings more emotion, a bit of nostalgia and drama. That doesn’t mean that she doesn’t work with color, there are some pictures that need color. Goretty doesn’t usually resize her shot. She is a street photographer that finds subjects in the streets, the people, the architecture, the city’s… all urban characters fascinate her, maybe it´s because of her profession, she is an architect. Through her camera she sees people and

can imagine the stories in each and every one of them; stories that rarely coincide with the reality. The streets and the public places are her fountain of inspiration. Goretty tries to find different angles to look at things, not the typical things you see on postcards. She is not afraid of packing her bags and traveling the world, even though she hasn’t had a lot of chances to do so. Being alone with her camera from the early hours of the morning until late at night, exploring and watching the buildings, people’s expressions, different situations that can only happen in a city. There are a lot of things that can happen in a second in a city, single moments that won’t occur twice. That’s why you have to be fast, curious, alert, and ready for anything.

INSECTS AS OBJECTS OF BEAUTY

YASIR MEHAMOOD PAKISTAN Although Yasir is an Interior Designer by profession his real passion is photography in general but nature and Wild photography in particular. To him photography is synonymous with oxygen, as he has to make a few clicks of camera everyday to keep his spirit satiated and healthy. For Yasir photography is not just a hobby, rather for him it is a tool of insight into nature. He specializes in insect photography, where with Yasir gift of seeing nature differently, he sees insects as objects of beauty, which are as beautiful as any other element of nature and worthy of being photographed.

This passion of his does not only make him see things differently, but it is a means of introspection for him as well. With every angle, every frame and with every shutter of the lens, it is actually an aspect of his personality and the gift he is born with; that unravels to Yasir. It might seem a cliche, but photography is what he likes to do, it is what he was born to do and wishes to continue doing it for the foreseeable future so that more and more people could see the world as Yasir sees it and the wild that is worthy of being praised and cherished.

DISCOVERING THE STRUCTURE OF NATURE

ADAM PACHULA GERMANY Adam was born in 1968 in Katowice, Poland. Currently he works and lives now in Dortmund, Germany. His adventure with photography began quite late in August in 2008. At the beginning there were usually photographs taken during family vacation, and only later he became interested in professional post production and so Adam began to crop and use light more consciously. His favorite subject is landscape.

Through photographs, he started to look at the world differently, discovering the structure of worlds nature, light and shadows and affiliated with it magical moments. Photography has become an important part of Adam’s life and escape from work in large corporation, it allows him to visit places under conditions in which he would not visited as a tourist.
